Check it out, it is the new PSP Phone. It has a good look, but I’m skeptical of the touch pad replacing the analog nubs.

After Mr.Blurry Camera Man kept releasing snapshots of Google’s next Android release, we knew a none, more detailed description of 2.3 would eventually leak out to the public. Google has finally given us this in the form of a recent voice search demonstration video from Google Hong Kong, where careful watchers have spotted tell-tale signs of a Nexus One running our new sweet tooth craving. As you can see above, the previously white status bar has now turned to black along with new icons as well as a tweaked launcher bar at the bottom of the screen. Settings also reveal restyled buttons and (thankfully)a new tab in the Market app labled “Related”.

Angry Birds has finally been released on the Android Market and GetJar store and guess what! It’s free!
Yeah, Rovio decided to bring it to the Android and good thing they did! It’s already seen over a million downloads in its first day on the system. But, you guys should know that it does have ads in it but they won’t get in the way of your game play. Especially if it’s free game play. :p

On Monday, Microsoft had a press conference to show off its highly anticipated and mysterious mobile platform called Windows Phone 7. It will be touchscreen based and many people figured it will be very similar to the Zune HD’s UI but it actually is a new kind of UI that bares little resemblance to any kind of device out on the market.

What we’ve been told, Windows Phone 7 phones will be deployed in over 30 different countries, 60 carriers, and 10 different launch devices. Looks like Microsoft will be trying to do what Google’s done with their Android platform. One downfall about American Windows Phone 7 phones will be that it won’t be available for Verizon or Sprint for quite some time. Other missing features, it seems, are running applications in the background, and copying and pasting.

If you set those two aside for a while and look at the gaming aspect of the phones (since we are a gaming site), the games look beautiful! Microsoft has included Live support for online gaming an even the ability to edit your avatar on the phone itself!
Anyways, some cool games coming out are Halo: Waypoint, The Oregon Trail, Assassin’s Creed, Guitar Hero 5, The Sims 3, Crackdown: Project Sunburst, Bejewled, Uno, Star Wars, and many, many, many more!

As a student, you can download a pack for Microsoft Visual Studios for free that will upgrade the compatibility to allow deployment of applications to the new phone systems and a few other goodies through Dream Spark. I’ve had plenty of time to play with the new expansion and the UI itself is great, and the architecture actually rocks. The IDE is a hundred times better than Apple’s XCode. If you’re not a student, Visual Studios will cost you $1,200, not including the WinMo 7 expansion. I’m not sure how much that will cost on top of the 1.2K.

Not ony is this game looking really good, but it actually looks fun. I think that the most important thing is that Dead Rising for the iPhone will be that it will be released before the holiday season of this year!
Unfortunately, you will be needing a 3GS or iPhone 4 to play this game and most likely the latest update of iOS. Resident Evil is $5, Street Fighter is $10, so you can bet that this will not be a 99 cents game.

Ever since Sonic Advanced for the GBA, I’ve been really wanting another classic, side-scrolling Sonic game. Sonic created a new genre of face-paced gameplay, but Sonic’s strayed away from what it was to try to morph into the third dimension. Unfortunately, he didn’t particularly cope well with that.
Well, the Sonic Team has decided that Sonic 4 will be the next Sonic game, how it was meant to be and by the looks of it, it looks like it will fit in perfectly. It will be coming to the iPhone, and then to the Wii, PS3, and 360.

Apple has allowed Google to offer its Google Goggles visual search app to the iPhone. Google Goggles attempts to make search picture based. Instead of typing up your search you take a photo of what you want to search and Google gives back its search results. If Google pulls this off its interesting to think of how many opportunities the search giant will have. Pretty neat idea, huh? We are going to try putting the app to a test and see how Google did. We tried: a book, a hat, a can of beans, a bottle of wine, and a xbox controller and lastly a picture of a picture from Vietnam. While the picture from Vietnam didn’t get any results (not ideal conditions) the rest got relevant results! Take a look.

To download it search for “Google Mobile App” in the iPhone App Store.
