Wii nunchuck issues in homebrew.,,

I installed homebrew recently and have been trying out some of the games. I discovered today that the nunchuck doesn`t work correctly with games that require it, specifically Helium Boy and Quake. For some reason the joystick, when pressed in ANY direction, will only move backward and left. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I tested the nunchuck using SMG and my SNES roms... it worked without problem. However, I still have the aforementioned problem when playing Quake and Helium Boy. PLEASE HELP!!
