How to Get Dial-up Internet to work on a PSP
Please note this is written by a more advanced user so things
wont be explained too well so if you would like help please
ask someone.
You will need:
1.Psp or other wireless device that needs high speed internet
2.wireless router or Access point (might work with a wireless
adaptor using ad-hoc mode)
3.Dial-up connection
4.PC
First Set up Internet Connection Shareing (ICS) on your dial-up connection,
Then set your ip on your network to static (not your dial-up connection),
Then configure your wireless devices "Deafult Gateway" to your PC's Ip address.
Then Connect to your Dial-up connection and connect to your router/access point with your device and boom! done.
Note: Its gonna be slow and i wouldent reccomend playing games on this just internet browseing and
updates and stuff like the wii channels (I havent tested this on the wii but in theory it should work).
I have managed to run Animal crossing WW and mario kart online with almost no lag.
I know most places have high speed and almost no one has dial-up, but I wrote this because if your
like me, and stuck in the sticks where theres no DSL or Cable lines, an Sattalite has a 300$ installation
fee and is 90 bucks a month you cant afford then this is useful. And Ive had people ask me "well if i dont have
DSL or Cable then why would i have a router?" I have one because it was 27 bucks on newegg and i thought about
doing this so i bought it. So this may be a good way to get your devices on the internet without High speed.
