2.71 SE-c Tutorial

THIS FLASHES TO YOUR PSP I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS DURING THIS PROCESS

This is for 1.50 ONLY!!!, Also you probably need a memory card bigger than 32 MB (The one it comes with)

(some credit must go to pspupdates for the pictures)(not all of them)

Example

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wat you'll need
2.71 SE-C: here
1.50 update eboot: here
2.71 update eboot: here
Winrar: here
Md5 verifier: here

Before starting you must install winrar

Step 1
After downloading plug in your psp. Then format your memory stick (taking out everything u still want)
Then open up 2.71 SE-C with winrar. Then take the NEWINSTALL folder and open it.
put the contents of the folder in the root of your memory stick.

Step 2
Then rename the update eboots (that you've downloaded)
1.50 update rename to "150" (or 150.PBP if not already in .PBP format)
2.71 update rename to "271" (or 271.PBP if not already in .PBP format)
put them in the "seupdmaker"( the one without the % in it) folder in X:PSP/GAME (x represents the letter of your drive)

Step 3
Then run the program on you psp named "Update Maker" looks like this
Image (picture courtesy of pspupdates)
a bunch of white text will come up like this
Image (once again pspupdates)
this will take a little while...
When finished plug your psp back into your computer you will now have a DATA.DXAR file in your "seupdmaker""( the one without the % in it) folder

Step 4
We will now Make sure the file is right by using
The MD5 Verifier
Md5 Code (E51EFACDAAF088F0308857FFDA6C18FA)<-- copy this code to were it says MD5 code
And were it says browse to downloaded file click browse then find your psp and look in GAME/Seupmaker (the one without the %) then finally click the DATA.DXAR file.
If the md5 verify passes put the DATA.DXAR file in the "271seflasher" folder (the one without the %)

Step 5
TAKE OUT ANY GAME IN
then run the program named "2.71 se flasher"
Image (updates)
(make sure your ac is plugged in) you will see your progress with a %
after its finished you now have 2.71 SE-C

Final step (optional)
afterwords (AFTER YOU'RE FINISHED) turn on you psp while holding R you will then see a recovery screen
Image (updates)
select configuration and enable and disable what you want wen your all set hit back and go to exit. you will then have all the settings you put in.

Thank You and Enjoy!

EDITED for spelling errors and to add pictures

if anyone gets this working on a TA motherboard tell me.

good job, but one question. Why do you need to block your MAC adress? like what could happen if someone got it?

I have a rather noobish question. I am currently running 1.5 with devhook. Is there any advantage for me to upgrade to this, or am I better off where I am ?

Thx

this is better because its 2.71 with all the benefits of 1.50

so you can backgrounds and stuff easier and still basically have 1.50

Ok, so as I understand it, I will have 2.71 firmware but be able to play hombrew, and wont need devhook to change back & forth. My other question is, if next week a different custom firmware comes out, will I be able to change , or will I be stuck with this one foreverr.

Sorry re all the questions, but I am fairly new to all this.

Many thanks
