Downgrading and emulators

Ok i have a PSP3000 that i just got a couple of days ago. Though playing an emulator would be pretty easy, but so far I've been unsuccessfull

My firmware is 6.30

I need a complete tutorial on how to do both of the following.
-Get to the firmware needed to be allowed to play emulators.
-How to load the emulator on to the psp so that I can play it.

I'm pretty good with computers so i don't need basic terms spelled out for me.
Just need to know how to do it, where to get the files needed to downgrade, and the basic how-to's that any person with moderate level computing skills would need to do this.

Thanks so much for the help in advance!
Going out for the fourth tonight so I'll be back on either tomorrow or the next day to check out the info given to me. and post my feedback.

Re: Downgrading and emulators

Impossible. the psp 3k is only hackable with firmware 5.03 and under. sorry. maybe you can go get a psp 2k or even a 1k. very sorry, but your best but WOULD have been the wolo exploit, thats patched in 6.3.

Re: Downgrading and emulators

Actually, airplanes18, there is a way. To load homebrew, you need to download the Patapon 2 demo and the Half Byte Loader. You will run the demo and when you load the SAVEGAME, it will actually load a homebrew menu instead. From there, you can load homebrew just fine. :D
But, that was only if you had firmware 6.20...

Maybe you could test it out, anyways? Wouldn't hurt to try.

Re: Downgrading and emulators

If they patched it, it will not even load and no bricking will occur. Most likely if it causes a brick, then it would also still be reading the code and that hack will still be usable by the homebrew community because it could be exploited again. If they didn't patch it, then you've got homebrew.

Re: Downgrading and emulators

tried it right after patching by accident. Didn't hurt the PSP just didn't work at all. Kinda dissapointed with the lack of emulator support on my new PSP. oh well i guess

Re: Downgrading and emulators

just bought this one its not a selling point really for me to have it on there it was just a hoped for luxury. If it becomes a problem in the future I'll trade it in but untill then no need. Can the PSP run .jar files? If so maybe i could use the meboy.jar cellphone thing.

Re: Downgrading and emulators

There are constantly new exploits found. I'd give it a good month before your firmware is unlockable. :P
