I Description
- -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- -
The idea for APPSwitcher grew after months of collecting homebrews on a larger
memorystick. The Sony XMB is just able to show them in one menu/location.
This prevents any chance of categorization of the software. APPSwitcher fills
in this gap and provides an easy to use mechanism to let the user put his
homebrew in categories that he/she chooses and let these categories be "loaded"
into the PSP/GAME directory one after the other by pressing a "switching"
button combination.
In fact APPSwitcher does this by renaming previously created and configured
directories to PSP/GAME etc. and vice versa.

II Installation
- -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- -
Copy the seplugins directory to your memorystick, create directories that
categorize your homebrews and put the homebrews there. Delete PSP/GAME,
PSP/GAME4xx etc. (they should be empty now as you already moved the software).
Open seplugins/appswitcher.txt to fit your setup (see Section III for an
example).
If you already have plugins running for the XMB then append the content of
seplugins/vsh.txt to your seplugins/vsh.txt on the memory stick.
Go to the M33 recovery menu (hold the Right Shoulderbutton while booting the
PSP up), go to Plugins and enable the APPSwitcher in VSH mode.

III Editing seplugins/appswitcher.txt
- -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- -
appswitcher.txt has a simple structure, in each line there are 2 locations
separated by a semicolon ";". The first location is the target directory where
the XMB is able to find the software, for example: "ms0:/PSP/GAME" or
"ms0:/PSP/GAME150". The second location is the directory of your choice for the
category of the software, for example "ms0:/PSP/BREW_GAMES" or
"ms0:/PSP/BREW_APP".
So imagine we have the following 3 locations set up:
ms0:/PSP/BREW_APP150
ms0:/PSP/BREW_APP4XX
ms0:/PSP/BREW_GAME

they contain the software.

Our seplugins/appswitcher.txt should look like this:
ms0:/PSP/GAME150;ms0:/PSP/BREW_APP150
ms0:/PSP/GAME4XX;ms0:/PSP/BREW_APP4XX
ms0:/PSP/GAME;ms0:/PSP/BREW_GAME

as we see, PSP/GAME150, PSP/GAME4XX and PSP/GAME are TARGET directories, if
they still exist on the memorystick (they should be empty now), DELETE them.
You could have set up more target directories, make sure they are deleted.

That's it.

IV Using APPSwitcher
- -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- -
You can switch your categories in the XMB by pressing the
Right Shoulderbutton and the Right direction on the D-Pad simultaneously.
The currently used category will be displayed for a short time in the lower
left corner of the screen.

NEVER switch between categories while USB is active! That also applies for USB
enabler plugins for the VSH/XMB.
