DivX coming to the PS3

It seems that since the 2.0 update on 11/2/07 DivX has been available on the PS3. While it appears that it was only available to developers ate that point, it may be accessible to users now that the 2.01 update has been released. I am going to do a little experimenting and report back here on the matter. Here is the link to the article where I found this.

HA HA!!! This all comes after DivX was pretty much announced for 360!
Wow, this is going to get 2 be the most competing Console sites. Xboxbrew and PS3brew. I hate to say it but....yall are winning.

I also found out in my digging around that we may be getting PiP around the same time as DivX. How cool would it be to have picture-in-picture on the PS3...maybe watching an avi of Heroes while playing some Gran Turismo.....awesome. I don't know the actual uses we will have for PiP but just the thought of it makes me wanna.......well...I don't know but you get the point.

Basically this means that the Xbox recognizes the file type. Which btw Playstation could do since the 2.00 update. Try to play a divx file on your Xbox 360 and I bet you don't get far.
