There is a certain file structure for saves. Copy your original save over to your usb, then copy the new save over it.

I just tried Bioshock. It's protected. Doesn't let me just copy the save from the USB.
It says "Cannot use the save. File was created by another user."

Right so you have the file you want from this website and stick it on a usb and transfer it over only to find its not your profile, i will now walk you through how to fix it.

DO NOT REPOST THIS IN OTHER FORUMS WITHOUT FIRST GIVING CREDIT, AND A LINK TO THIS POST HERE AT BREWOLOGY


Average time: 5 - 10 mins
Difficulty: Medium

1) download ps3 resigner, of course i will provide a link to it if the mods will allow me to

2) go to your ps3 and switch it on and on the xmb go to the game tab

3)while your ps3 turns on, make sure your pc is turned on and has the usb you want to use in one of the usb ports

4)MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING ON THE USB AS YOU WILL NOW BE FORMATTING THE USB PEN DRIVE:

4A) open my computer
4B) right click on the usb and select format
4C) make sure you format as fat32 and use the defaults for everything else, at this stage make sure quick format is selected unless your willing to wait for a full format
4D) click ok and wait for the usb to format
4E) now the format is complete click on ok and the you should be back on the my computer screen
4F)right click on the usb and select eject, we are now ready for the next part but don't turn of your pc yet

5) Place usb in ps3 and copy a unprotected game save (i use the profile save as its small) and press triangle and copy it to usb

6)remove usb and place it back into the pc

7)Open the usb and navigate through the folders, they should be like this:

PS3 -> game save -> (YOUR GAME OR BLES OR BLUS CODE)

cut this folder from the usb by right click and select cut, go to desktop and right click and paste it there

9)open up ps3 resigner by right clicking on [PS3] Save Resigner 2.0.exe and select run as administrator

10)at the top of the screen click on the profile tab

11)click on load from param.sfo and locate the save file that we put on the desktop

12)under profile name, give your profile a name and click on save profile changes

13)download your game save from this brilliant website (http://ps3.brewology.com/)

14)navigate to the save game you just downloaded (check download folder) right click and extract the file

15)go back to the ps3 resigner and click on the down arrow next to open and select single gamesave

16)go to the location of the save file and select and open it

17)first of all select decrypt to decrypt the file

18)under owner click on load from and select existing profile

19)double click your name, click on save profile the click the little x to close that pop up

20)under region make sure it matches the code on the box, if its for a game bought through ps store, a quick google will give you the code you need to put in here

21) make sure copy protection is not ticked or you will not be able to copy it to the ps3, click encrypt and wait, then click resign and wait the click save to current usb drive

22) now go into my computer and right click the drive and select eject and remove the usb

23)go to ps3 save data, usb and press triangle on new game save and copy it to the ps3

24) come back to this website and thank me and leave me loads of brilliant feedback which i shall enjoy reading with my cup of coffee and a nice biscuit or two

save works with REBUG 4.78.2 REX EDITION CFW.

Will need to install CFW and the rebug toolbox package and load it up.

Then change the settings [SYSTEM MODE]NORMAL TO REBUG. [XMB OPERATION MODE]RETAIL TO DEBUG. [DEBUG MENU TYPE]CEX QA TO DEX.

Once restarted go to settings and scroll to bottom and click on DEBUG SETTINGS

Then scroll down to FAKE SAVE DATA OWNER and turn on.

[put downloaded save file on USB in folder PS3\SAVEDATA and use XMB PS3 save data utility and copy]

Start up game (should see notification saying FAKE SAVE DATA: ON)
