Reproduction nes carts?
Posted: Wed Dec 05, 2007 2:39 pmI just discovered a website that sells homebrew NES game paks (like Final Fantasy 2). Has anybody here tried this before? I'd provide a link, but that's probably against the rules.

Posted: Fri Dec 07, 2007 1:56 pmPM sent. The idea is that you have a cartridge of an unreleased game made, and it works in a NES. It feels better to play a game on the original console, and my NES is a top-loader, so it get alot of use even today.

It seems as though he takes a lot of games and like say, translates them to english or resell old prototypes. Like maybe a game that was never released in the US, he translates it and reproduces a english version. Go ahead and post the link, It won't bother me. It would be cool if you could test one and see if it's legit. Seems to me it is, he just makes the carts and flashes the ROM to it. Except the $1k Star Trek V sounds iffy to me lol.

Since they technically didn't release the games, or sell them, so technically the company isn't loosing money. If though the copyright has been changed since back then, to allow reproduction and crap like that. And he says you are only paying for the materials to make the cart, such as wire, plastic and stuff. But I really don't know. That's why I wish someone who had some knowledge about how he does it or w/e could explain it.
