Obama wins Nobel peace Prize

here.

Then don't reply. Its an open discussion for the people that actually want to talk about it. I don't think he should have gotten it. Look at all the other people who are more important then him. Like compare him to the people who already have it. Huge difference. Personally I think somebody else should have gotten it like Paul Hewson or somebody who has actually done something. I'm not really sure what he got it for though, since I don't really keep up what is happening in a different country then me.

I really don't understand why he deserves the Nobel peace prize. Like what has he actually done? Like the only reason they really gave was that his beliefs influenced world peace. Big woop. I don't see what makes him different then someone else in the world.

Oh I forgot to add the 3rd option "I like cheeze", for some reason people always choose that.
I wonder who else was on the list of candidates. The funny thing is.. nominations ended 2 weeks into his term, so someone figured he deserved it 2 weeks into his presidency

This isn't the first time the nobel peace prize's award was politically motivated. There was an interesting article I read, don't have the link anymore... but this pretty much means the award means nothing now.

Actually. The candidates were picked 3 weeks before his presidency (inauguration?) Oh and we will not find out who the list of other candidates are for until 2059.

Nominations closed I think 12 days after Obama was elected... I think that's what Advent was trying to say.
Well, the reason for choosing him is the same reason someone nominated him. He was nominated for doing nothing in his presidency (he wasn't president yet) and he still hasn't done anything!

Yeah that's what I meant. I did look through some of the other winners of the prize and there are some interesting ones here and there. So I guess it's the norm to throw it away every now and again.

Obama doesn't deserve it. He's just promoting the same type of wealth for the private military corporations that George W. was doing and since their policies are so vastly similar in action, giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize is very similar to giving Bush Jr. the prize... and that's just wack.

Actually i haven't herd about this, i have been so busy lately to pay any attention to anything. Thats just dumb tho, honestly what has he done for us? Cash for clunkers? That's about the only thing i can think of.. and even that almost didn't work. Obama winning the peace prize is a joke.
