Anybody experienced with PC Tools Antivirus program?

I have been having problems with this antivirus program. After a while it begins to shut down on its own. Also after opening the program, where it reads "IntelliGuard Protection is LIMITED" Ive never had it set as limited before. Then every time i uninstall PC Tools Antivirus I loose my internet connection.

P.S.
My operating system is windows vista

You could even have a virus... I would download avg free... its pretty good. People are starting to like other free products because avg is becoming a bit bloated, but it does work and pretty well.

Download AVG free.
Disconnect from the internet (disable wireless/unplug LAN cable)
Install AVG
Uninstall current product
Scan

Get spybot search and destory,
Avg (optional person i don't like it)
Avira
and Comodo firewall
update all 4, turn internet off, scan with Spybot do a before startup scan no programs only basic system is loaded and Spybot, it scans for keyloggers which AVG misses.

Meh, if it was me I would just use revo uninstaller to uninstall it, install Avast and scan it. I've never used anything more then just Avast for the past few years and have never had a problem. If I wanted to go all out and buy something that could detect rootkits, etc, I would just buy like Norman or NOD32, something that utilizes sandbox. I just prefer not to use so many av's because it can become resource intensive after a while.

Whatever you downloaded is probably similar to Antivirus 2009 or something along the lines of that.

Anyone checked avast! ? I have tried almost all of the good antiviruses and the best ones were : avast! 4.8 pro and AVG 8.5 internet security...

avast! doesnt need backup, its fine on its own, it removes spyware, adware and viruses.... scans complete in around 30 min... never missed a virus for me, barely gives false positives, so its fine... AVG was pretty slow and it just tells u that there is a tracking cookie, but doesnt remove it, gives false positives but its still no.2 on my list..

Norton sucks, Kaspersky and Bitdefender are pretty good, Mcafee sucks as well

dont buy them, download a torrent...

p.s. for avast! i have a serial that'll make it run for 7 years.. awesomeness

AVG removes tracking cookies but you do know you can get them again and again.

I'm sorry, but this is the worst advice I have come across when it comes to antivirus software.

Do you really want to trust your computer security to software that some unknown person has cracked? Really, any of the mainstream free antivirus programs will work. There are lots of people that say ____ sucks, use ____. AVG used to be the big popular one, but now there are others. I use AVG and I haven't had a virus. I'm also smart and don't just open everything I download off the net straight away.

Commercial products will protect your computer. The only downside to them is bloat. They have TONS of features that don't necessarily help and will usually slow down your system. For the average joe, they're fine. For advanced users we like stuff that will do the job and only the job we want them to do.

Debating which program is best is a useless and endless debate. There is no best program. People make more viruses and trojans, programs update and evolve. Everyone's mileage will vary. If you really want to see what programs are good, get on google and search for reviews. They people that usually write them know a hell of a lot more than anyone on this forum. From there you can give a product a try. If you are happy with it, keep it. I've been using AVG for a while, it works and I'm happy, so I'll stick with it until I see a need to change.

if u have noticed, most NEW antiviruses aren't getting cracked, they come with a serial... so its the original trial install file with a serial, or it comes as an ISO image for the ORIGINAL DVD/CD.. so nothing of the program gets changed

Thats not the point the person who put that their couldof easily put other trojans other software into that And because you downloading antivirus softare can assume you don't have any.
Also Paying for something you know works is always good. Also the programs i use probaly don't even use 10% of my CPU, *maybe alot for some but with 4GB Ram its nothing" Also just having antivirus software with no decent firewall is a little risky.
Personally AVG free i don't think is worth it (ALONE) but when paid for actualy checks for EVERYTHING, i would just use that but i have no income. so W/E.

imo personaly i use Avast and just the free edition of it....i also use ccleaner to clean my temp folders and registry. i use MBAM (Malwayre Bytes Anti Malwayre) if i think i have viruses and also Combofix and Smitfraudfix (only in extreme cases).

Generally Avast is more than enough, majority of the people who get viruses have no idea what they are doing on the internet and go to virus filled sites....and as you all know(well i hope you do) that nothing will stop every virus.

also please dont use combofix or smitfraudfix...if the viruses are that bad take it to some one who can fix it

just my opnions here
