Man I just used mininova about a week or so ago since demonoid went down... this is making me sadful for t3h 1337 interw3bz. Isohunt has always been good to me though, and so has sumotorrent or w/e that site is, so I guess for now I'll be looking elsewhere yet again.

Mininova took out the whole Softwares thing..

It had legal stuff:

1. Codec Packs
2. Ubuntus
3. Other versions of Linux..
4. Some free games

now that was stupid

Da Cool Man, a lot of times, they can legally host files even if they are copywriten.
I believe that Mininova was in Denmark- Therefore, it doesn't matter if it's copywritten in America or not. If there isn't a copywrite for the word iPhone in Estonia, somebody can copywrite that name. Apple would have a tough time getting the iPhone there if someone were to do that.

Sorry to correct you but that's not correct.

See, Most people ignore the fact that we have world government now. The U.N. national peace keeping organization is in charge of world copyrights and a lot more.

All you have to do is submit a copyright in your country and it becomes a global copyright so anyone of any nation must respect your work.

It's all here: http://www.wipo.int/copyright/en/

I'm pretty sure, Que, that this is not the case with 90% of copywritten material in America.

You have much to learn grasshopper...

Then explain why the UN settled this complaint between 2 American citizens.

Because they got involved, first of all, and secondly because it was within one country.

What?

The UN should have NEVER been involved because it was all in one country.

Exactly. It's within the United States that the UN was able to become involved in the situation.
UN probably wouldn't be allowed to interfere within many other countries. Some countries aren't even apart of the UN.
What would happen if the world's biggest torrenting site ever was all hosted in Kosovo?

You're wrong and Que is right. The UN should not be able to do that. That is not the purpose of the UN.

edit: Speaking of New World Order... http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE5B300J20091204

Something sounds terribly familiar
