DPM I am glad you have posted these charts.

Note that the charts only go from 1889 to present, that is barely 100 years!

Few people know of 1816 and why it is known as the year without a summer. The climate anomaly was caused by a combination of a historic low in solar activity and a volcanic winter, google it sometime then check the date on this report: http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/18692

Because it is. I mean, think about how many people are going crazy about all of this Global Warming jargon when the Earth on average hasn't even warmed up more than 1 degree Celsius for almost the past 130 years. They make it seem like the Earth is on fire when it hasn't hardly changed one bit.

I read the update and I am surprised the IPCC seems to be serious about this (at least on the surface). The notion that the computers were hacked seems like a copout to me though. It has been shown that the IPCC's calculations have been wrong for a decade now and I believe this was done under instruction because there are well connected people that stand to earn LARGE sums of money off of Global Warming.

I bet the car companies are dancing in their jumbo jets that they purchased with the bailout money.

im going to study Geography in A level, but i don't think you lot understand how much even 1 degree can effect the climat, it may not seem much but it causes desasterous effects.

I think you completely missed the bus on this one.

I don't think you understand that it isn't people that are the problem OR the solution. What are you going to do? Invent a machine that weakens the suns power? Because without the sun as a heater there can be no heating.

That's the issue.

I do know the sun gets hotter every 350 years, i have watched several programs, on how the suns heat intensity is getting higher and higher, but you don't get it that Global warming is effecting it, because if we could get the Co2 to be so less, that the earth would be colder, without high amounts of Co2 you can actualy make the world colder,
are refer you to the program "Snowball Earth"
you would be supprised how much ive watched, just because i don't add it into one arguement doesn't mean i don't know it.

the sun may be getting hotter yes, but by small amounts, what matters is how much CO2 there is in our atmosphere because with little amounts the actual heat isn't being kept in.

Also CH4 Methane is more "Anoying" then co2 because its harder to brake down and its a greenhouse gas, Fart. :-)

Also i dnno if anyones noticed, but we produced CO2 and we breath in Oxygen, the more people the more CO2 we are going to produce every day.

HEY! dont disrespect al gore! cuz he invented the tubes in which we all go on. So next time you see a tin foil hat and are oni the internet, thank al gore for being special!! :D

i dont have much to say here. youve all said it for me. lets do a quick show hands.

GLOBAL WARMING FALSE RAISE A HAND *raises hand*

GLOBAL WARMING TRUE RAISE BOTH

the sun getting hotter has more effect on genral warming, but Global warming is true its just the sun has a bigger effect, However Co2 Traps heat so without it even if the sun was pritty hard the heat wouldnt be trapped in.

This is junk science.

The CO2 concentration in Earth's atmosphere is less than 0.04% by volume! That is less than 1/20th of 1%. Think about it instead of repeating without confirming some random "fact" you heard on television or wherever.

Instead, do what I did and get 2 balloons and pump CO2 in one and air in another. Put them both in the sun and see exactly how much PURE CO2 is required in the air to cause a major temperature difference.
It's the Mythbusters experiment they don't want you to see.

If you do this you will learn what I learned, that CO2 is not a green house gas. Besides, photosynthetic organisms absorb CO2 and mammals like you and I require it for oxygen transfer. So without CO2 we would all die.

Yes the CO2 in earth is less then 0.04% concentration,
there is a Equilebrium ballance between CO2 producing mammals and Oxygen producing photosynthetic organisms however, and a simple test like that cannot measure how much the effect of CO2 is in our atmosphere, you can do a Scaled test to simple prove/disprove this,

"Carbon dioxide in earth's atmosphere is considered a trace gas currently occurring at an average concentration of about 383 parts per million by volume or 582 parts per million by mass. The total mass of atmospheric carbon dioxide is 3.0×1015 kg (3,000 gigatonnes)." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide

a trace of salt can be the difference between someone dieing, and someone living.

Tbh i don't care weather Global warming is true or isn't true, i care more about our O3 (Ozone) levels.

Yes, and a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tsunami on the other side of the globe.

This means that for every 1,000,000 molecules of air you will only have 383 molecules of CO2 or 0.0383% per volume. You can believe what you want but I don't see how 383 CO2 molecules per million air molecules makes a difference. It is only because we live in the age that we do that we can even measure such a small amount.
Alex Finlay wrote:I care more about our O3 (Ozone) levels.

Yea, I believe this to be another myth. Please explain how O3 (Ozone) is found as a layer in the upper atmosphere when it is heavier than O2(oxygen)? 03 should sink to the ground, not hover overhead as a protective layer! Also O3 is found in higher concentrations near the equator than at the poles because it's heavier, remember, air behaves as a fluid and the earth spins so centrifugal forces are at play here.

That explains your ozone hole at the poles, no need to worry anymore; so turn off the TV & read some books for a change.
