My thoughts on things around here.

so ive been talking with airplanes latly about how things are run around here to be be honest I think its a load of sh*t that pretty much every topic now is marked as spam if its been done before. take my 2012 post for example. I worked for about 2 hours on that (1 for watching the show, 1 for making the research and the post) and all I go out for the night and come back and see that people have to be trolls about the fact that there is already a 2012 topic. even tho when I further investigated DPM hijacked the topic to talk about music on Saturn! I MEAN REALLY? all I was trying to was voice my opinion in a educated way and I just get trolled upon. I mean really? is it so important that theres two 2012 topics on the fourm? would u wake up in a cold sweat going "OH MY GOD! THERES A DOUBLE 2012 POST! LOCK LOCK LOCK LOCK LOCK!" I dunno. if this gets locked or something im out for good.

not to be a "yeah-what-hey-said" thing, but i posted the lost the game thread, ad it was an immediate ~SPAM~ by Ace.

not like you people dont do it. hell DPM posted the same thing in 2 places. and ONE WAS LOCKED!

I love this place, but if you guys go all fatheaded, ill go educate after dawn and some other places.

Guys complaining won't fix anything.
Face it we're stuck with this administration. Move on.

1. You don't know how many times you'd have been banned if it wasn't for me.

2. Any post you made that you felt should not have been locked, as defined by our terms, rules and regulations, falls into the category of being allowed an appeal. You are now complaining about something which should remain a private matter but are doing so in the public forum and so I'm, unfortunately, less likely to care. This goes for both of you.

3. "DPM posted the same thing" because he was going to post in the 2012 thread that was made originally, which wasn't locked, but as he went to retrieve the video link he wanted to include, the topic was locked and DPM was forced to repost his post to the previously-posted thread. DPM did this because he was following the rules, which is seen by him promptly deleting his old post. He did that because that's what you're supposed to do if you want to continue following the rules because a moderator closed that thread and even though he is ABOVE the moderator, in power, he still goes by what the moderator does.

It was locked because of the no duplicate post rule. Its common knowledge on all forums that if it already exists than it doesn't need to be there twice. Furthermore, it was not like we jumped on your back about it. We didnt yell at you for having a duplicate thread. We simply locked it and gave you a link to use to further that thread. Its REALLY not that hard to copy and paste what you said into the new thread.

I REALLY wish more of you would join a other forum and see how harsh their community is on the rules. We are LENIENT on you all.

still I looked to see if there was a 2012 page and I couldent find one. all im trying to say is that it was my rant about 2012 and to be fair it wasnt all about 2012. it gave some pretty good info. and dont try to pull the "others are worse" card here because Im a member of the marriland fourm and its good there no mods troll around locking things for no reason. I mean really? DPM would u be pissed? why would u care BFK? did u take a innaugural mod oath to lock all useless things?

Seriously. That's probably all that has to be said of the staff. There are people that come here just to hate on us and it's so utterly pathetic and pointless to do. If you don't like how the site is handled, on any level, you can leave. If you hate our site, the staff, the forum, for any and all reasons you're more than welcome to join any other forum that you'd like. We are not strict. I unbanned someone who tried to literally destroy the site... even though that person hates me... and we're all of the sudden being too strict.

And Dethklok, you say you "were just putting it out there". Well, the staff took a good time reading this document of yours so perhaps you and your friends here can read a document of ours. If you'd done that, you'd have known that the very first thing outlined in our polices extends an appeal process to the average member directly to the administrator himself for overview, which is how this should have been handled from the start. Don't be a punk online and threaten to leave. Just leave without being a punk about it or get over your topic being locked and copy/ paste what you wrote to the one that was linked to you by BKF. From the time you open the locked thread, it's literally just a couple clicks of the mouse and 2 keystrokes away from being written again. That's what I had to do. That's what you have to do. That's what everyone has to do because the moderators here do their jobs.

You're welcome to goto another forum where any ol' moderator outright bans you just because they want to without warning... i.e. most other forums. If you aren't here for the community and you aren't here for the staff, don't waste your time. By all means. Leave. But maybe take two seconds to reconsider leaving and understand that this is nothing to even be upset about and that you were covered from the beginning to get my word about the situation from the start.

If you feel this strong about how this place is ran, then why are you still here? Really, go do even a fraction of the things you do here and see how long you last on any other forum that appeals to a very wide audience.

I've already said it before, you how do you break so many rules, then ask to be a moderator and then say this? Like it was already mentioned, you have the right to appeal to dpm about any way that you feel you have been treated unfairly, and imo if you don't even exercise that right then there is no reason to listen to you when you say you were treated unfairly. Really, follow the very loose set of rules we have and there won't be a problem.

Honestly, brew just isn't the way it was before.
I think a lot of the few active people who post on here would agree with me that brew just isn't as popular
as it was a long time ago. We're pretty much a laughing stalk now.

When Nik first opened the site, what really brought people in was the fact that things were updated and in order.
His Brew Packs lead people to the site and made the very foundation of it.
Then he started introducing news, on top of that more and more members started piling in.

After Nik left and this administration came in, everything changed.
I was told after I was banned and relieved of my staff duties, you guys promised so many things to the site
(who knows what they were) and so far I have seen change (the bad kind..) because these supposed promises you
made cannot be done nor kept without Nik.

Think about it. The news is rarely updated, I don't EVER see any of the old members on here anymore,
nor barely any new active faces, and all people do on here is argue about things going wrong with the site or
things that have happened to them personally on the site (like the creator of this topic, not really going into that though).
The only main active forum that people ever post in is General Chat. I could be wrong though, I havn't been back here long
enough to really prove that, but it definitely connects to other things.

The site is definitely not growing any stronger than you think. People keep saying they're going to leave,
and we just can't compare to any of the other top sites anymore.

It's times like this I wish a person like Nik who knows how to actually contain the site back into order would come back
and help shape the site back into what it was, and take it away from this corruption.

But what keeps an old face like me around? I don't know how to answer that exactly.
Possibly because it was the first site where I learned many things about my old 1.00 PSP, I consider it the place
where monkeymaximus took me in and called it his "home" as you would say. It's really a shame to see it like this now.

I am not the only one who stands behind this just so you know, I'm just the only one with balls
willing to admit brewology is failing horribly, and may never reach its peak it was once at.

Just something to think about. I'm not going to argue because I know an admin or a mod (not saying names )
will most likely write a novel or something in retaliation to this, and may eventually lead into a flame war of some sort,
and like many other topics on general chat, be locked.

I really don't want to see anyone leave.

I like spirited debates however the root of this is the 2012 thread and since I have been a member I recall at least 2 other threads not including the new one. So for simplicity and organizations sake lets keep them together as much as possible.

As for not finding it Deathlok you must not have included "2012" as one of your search parameters.

Anyhow, if you really want to discuss 2012 that bad just cut and paste what you posted to the existing thread and lets move on, that's what I would do and it's what you should do too.

No one wants to stop you from talking about it they just want it in the proper thread.

Mailas what exactly have you done to help? This place is supposed to be a community effort. All i see you do is hop on every topic that bashes staff.

There hasn't been much going on in this scene since a few key players left. There isn't any new psp news to post in general. I mean when was our last CFW out? What legendarily useful homebrew has been created recently?

I mean monkeymaximus posts maybe what once maybe twice a month? No one can make the guy come back and the staff makes do. I joined this forum years ago when things were really starting to heat up. I got real assistance when I needed it and STILL do. That should be the main focus. Assisting the noobs and welcoming the fresh minds. Not personal vendettas about locked topics.
