I un-bricked it with a Pandora's Battery...
And I did it without putting custom firmware on it...
That hasn't ever been done before... has it?

Pretty unusual.
Whats even more unusual is an admin posting in the wrong forum xD
However I've never used a pandora battery (since I havn't been in the PSP scene for a while) but the first thing that came up when I searched in google was a tutorial:
http://www.qj.net/psp/how-to/tutorial-h ... ttery.html
So..I guess it's pretty common.

Nah, it's not the wrong forum. It's general chat. But yeah, you can unbrick a PSP with a Pandora's Battery and then it'll install the custom firmware version 1.50 or 3.40/3.71 or w/e (for slim) that you can upgrade to a full custom firmware from. This didn't happen though. I used a Pandora's Battery to unbrick the PSP to the normal version 5.51 that it was without downgrading at all... which I've never heard of personally.

No, I didn't install ANY firmware at all. It started at 5.51 and I bricked it as dead as you can brick it. Then I unbricked it BACK to 5.51 without rewriting the 5.51 firmware.

hm....... sounds like it wasnt briked then. that really doesnt seem logical. im not saying youre lying, im just saying there HAS to be more to it then that.
so you just put the battery in and it started up, just like that? no MMS, no buttons, nothing?
i remmeber when my PSP slim wouldnt respond to its pandora if i had used it on a psp phat. something about the coding made it stop responding to the battery at all. so i plugged the PSP in and then put the battery in and it was all good. sounds like a similar case to me

I had dug up my old magic memory stick to help a friend get custom firmware on his slim, but the stick had the files setup to downgrade a phat PSP and not a slim, so when I ran the program it bricked it. The PSP was dead as all dead gets. Power up, no screen activity, no sound, green power light, auto-turn off etc. I had two friends here to witness that it was definitely bricked.
Then, I'd setup the stick for a slim and tried the process over, and the PSP was unbricked but NOT downgraded. Instead, it was revived to just where it was at before and no firmware files were rewritten. I was using the 3.40/ 3.71 firmware files to recreate the update.php needed and instead of downgrading and becoming hacked it was just reverted to where it was before.
I hadn't ever personally heard of this before... seems weird. But I can assure you, it was most certainly bricked.

Ok, seriously? Every single f*cking post made in this section about ANY f*cking gaming system is forever going to be moved out of general chat then. F*cking forum Nazis... can't talk about gaming in the general chat on a gaming forum... oh no!
