Gamecube only had a few good games. I liked the PS2 way more than the GC.

NES
It has sold 62 million units world wide not counting clones.
How many other systems can boast clones?

Well the NES clones came out primarily before emulation came into play on a widespread level. But as long as we're throwing out consoles that were "the best for
their time", I'd have to say the Sega Genesis trampled Nintendo for a while, thus tossing aside a huge market share that Nintendo had pretty much entirely controlled. The Genesis, thought as an immediate competitor to the slower NES at the time, even showed that it rivaled the Super Nintendo when it dropped as well. I'd say the add-on stuff for the Genesis slowly dwindled the platform, but before it was phased out, Sega had one HELL OF A RUN with the Genesis because it can do what "Nintendon't" - my favorite TV ads of all time

I'd have to agree with probably the n64, the gamecube is right behind it though. Sure genesis did great, but I loved my n64 and then gamecube back in the day, and playing pokemon or luigi's mansion hours on end. Of course I had a lot of fun playing the dreamcast with my neighbor as well, with virtua cop and golden axe or w/e that thing was called, oh and sonic with those removable mem cards with the lcd screens on them.

Truthfully it's gotta be the NES hands down, it revolutionized gaming like no one had seen before.
Other than that it is hard to say between PS2 and N64.. I can't decide >_<.

Well if it is limited to N64 and PS2 then it is PS2 without question. PS2 beats it in the library alone!

Yeah I guess so, I think im just biased with my childhood times playing on the N64.
But the PS2 really demolished the competition and has one of the best libraries.

Childhood memories with the SNES and N64 are priceless. Not to mention the Gamecube being the first actual console I bought myself (What was I 9-10 at the time?).
Anyway, I want the rumor to be true about Sega making a console again. Itd sale I think.

I heard they were hanging it up with consoles permanently. Plus there was a new Saturn project they were working on a few years back and when it got leaked they just threw in the towel and said no more.
If they release another crappy sonic game I will fart.
I think Sega's best years are behind them now.

It was a few years back I heard it so it might be that Saturn project.
idk childhood faith in Sega and Sonic I guess (even though I never have owned a sega console..but played them regularly at my cousins grandmas house).
