I get the windows errors crystal clear Like the sound ya know?

It's not a Hardware problem.. They were working before I went to XP.

The audio driver is definitely not made by Conexant. Those folks make 56k modems and communications devices. I'll see if I can't dig up an audio driver. I should be able to.

Well I've finally givien up.. It's installing UBUntu as we speak. (but Thanks DPM)

lol.. I actually wanna see this again..

Yeah it may be hardware-related. I've searched and searched and apparently the sound driver IS MADE by Conexant, which I've never heard of personally. I thought they only did modems and other junk parts. The driver I found is the same one over and over that you've already seen before so if it isn't working then it leads towards hardware-related issues instead, but I'm not sure.

Try using headphones? If it works, the speakers may be blown/ damaged.

HAHAH YES!!!!

go get 9.04 first. best to learn on that before hopping on the Lynx band wagon.

get google chrome, and ill see what else i can find that you might want.....
the seperate window thing is awesome.


oh, and you may not like the flash player...... you can thank adobe for not giving a sh*t about US.

Well it looks cool, in theory.. I actually haven't got it to boot.. lol

I click on the Ubuntu OS on the motherboard like startup screen... it goes to another box that says Windws XP in it..
If I click that it fails, and goes back.. and if I hit E I can edit another box in which I have no idea what Im doing..

haha.

Dude u should have gotten super-ubuntu... u dont have to install programs...

anyways as for the driver, try installing windows installer 4.5 (again)... that did the job for me once!

Weird. Get another HDD, wipe it and reformat for a fresh install.

It was simple for me. easy.


try a wipe. id say its best to boot on a separate partition
