First of all, if it doesn't matter what skin color someone is, then why do they try so hard for him to be black? Why can't he be white? I feel discriminated upon by their attempts.

US white PPl suck at PRO sports. just face it. there are exceptions. noe close your eyes think of a Great or just anay Basketball player. what color of person pops in first?.................. Black. stupid nonsense. We are far too race oriented in media. Have you ever seen a nerd black guy getting bullied by a group of white kids? naybe you have. Now he would have RIGHTEOUS anger. A real good reason to be mad at Flash Thompson. Now Flash Thompson looks like a racist too huh? better change his color as well that way the film doesn't feel RACIST. Know what pisses me off? Its not the fact that spider-man could be black. Honestly its because the entire movie would be about racism in the end. Not a bad message about racism maybe teaching some much needed tolerance, but it wont be Spider-Man.


....not to mention comics and racism have a dark history. Anyone remember that issue of Superman where Lois Lane turns herself black so she can infiltrate the hood? They were trying to teach tolerance but it was the most racist comic in history. What if by trying to send a non-racist message they end up making the most incredibly racist movie of all time?

This is the way everything seems to be now, someone for whatever reason feels they are "offended" and it has to be changed, when if you step outside of the situation and disregard say, any race aspects of the situation, it is just plain stupid. Why would spiderman be black? He has been white in all of the comics I ever seen, and the people that say it's racist or what have you probably don't even care about spiderman at all. I've said the same thing about Christmas trees, and how people call them holiday trees as not to get offended. This whole concept of getting offended over anything is probably, out of the very few that I have, my biggest pet peeve EVER! They don't even care about the lore behind spiderman or the fact that, well, HE IS WHITE!

That's like me as a Christian getting offended over Menorah and regarding it as a "holiday candle". I believe the consensus would call me a moron or hypocrite, or other degrading adjective. It's ludicrous and outlandish.

People just can't let anything go if it's not their way.

Mainly for 2 reasons:

Reason A: Usually they can get some kind of revenue for being offended (at least that's what they believe).
Reason B: The offender doesn't share the same views and has not "felt the struggle" of the victim so the victim feels superior.

My 2 cents.

He's not black in the comics.... end of story. You need to stay true to the source material and to do something like this will lead to nothing but trouble.
