Oh im not making any final decision. Im just not going to the store at the end of the week to pick one up. Il wait till I see one in person to make my final decision.

Say if they doubled CPU and improved graphics I might go and get one....but this money is staying with me for a new laptop right now.

3rd thread on this? really?

why is this such a huge revelation? im sure itll be just the same as the other xbox. microsoft hasnt learned. took them 3 trys to get BUILT IN WIFI and a SLIM console, so im not putting NAY faith in that ugly thing.

I NOTICE no one CARES ABOUT THE NEW black wii. ??? why not? and no one cared about the ps3 slim.... so why is this one so special? wever. tell me how it goes.

3 trys to get built in wifi? I only see this as their 2nd try....and in fact in 2005 built in wifi was just booming.

3rd try for a slim console? This is their first redesign.

Black Wii? Nothing Changed. Its just a paint job.

We had coverage of the PS3 Slim too.

The black Wii was only a console color change. I think this 360 is a complete hardware redesign so I think the excitement is justified.

and has new chipset. I am positive this is it. As to it was leaked from same people that leaked the Slim PS3. the GPU and CPU are now one chip with a Good size fan on top. Yes it WILL have the CHANCE to RRoD, just as the PS3 has the CHANCE to YLoD. Like i stated I am Really excited to buy this. as in i need a xbox. lol.

UGH here now look at how many PLAYSTATIONS THERE WERE. YOU had MORE

PlayStation
The original PlayStation
Main article: PlayStation (console)

The original PlayStation, released in December 1994, was the first of the ubiquitous PlayStation series of console and hand-held game devices, which has included successor consoles and upgrades including the Net Yaroze (a special black PlayStation with tools and instructions to program PlayStation games and applications), "PSone" (a smaller version of the original) and the PocketStation (a handheld which enhances PlayStation games and also acts as a memory card). It was part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, competing against the Sega Saturn and the Nintendo 64. By March 31, 2005, the PlayStation and PSone had shipped a combined total of 102.49 million units,[7] becoming the first video game console to reach the 100 million mark.[8]
Main article: PS one

Released in July 2000, concurrently with its successor the PlayStation 2, the PS one was a smaller, redesigned version of the original PlayStation video game console and was considerably smaller than the original PlayStation. Originally launched on July 7, 2000,[9] it went on to outsell all-other consoles including its successor the PlayStation 2 throughout the remainder of the year.[10] It featured two main changes from its predecessor, the first being a cosmetic change to the console and the second being home menu's Graphical User Interface.
[edit] PlayStation 2
The original PlayStation 2
Main article: PlayStation 2

Released in 2000, 15 months after the Dreamcast and a year before its other competitors, the Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube, the PlayStation 2 is part of the sixth generation of video game consoles, and is backwards-compatible with most, if not all, original PlayStation games. It has also been released as a media center configuration and also, like its predecessor, a slimmer redesign. It is the most successful console in the world,[11][12] having reached over 140 million units in sales as of July 20, 2008.[13] On November 29, 2005, the PS2 became the fastest game console to reach 100 million units shipped, accomplishing the feat within 5 years and 9 months from its launch. This achievement occurred faster than its predecessor, the PlayStation, which took "9 years and 6 months since launch" to reach the same benchmark.[8] It is the most popular console in the series.
Main article: PlayStation 2 Slimline

Released in 2004, four years after the launch of the original PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 2 Slimline was the first major redesign of the PlayStation 2. Unlike its predecessor the Slimline was smaller, thinner, and quieter and also included a built-in Ethernet port (in some markets it also has an integrated modem). In 2007, Sony began shipping a revision of the Slimline which was lighter than the original Slimline together with a lighter AC adaptor.[14] In 2008, Sony released yet another revision of the Slimline which had an overhauled internal design incorporating the power supply into the console itself like the original PlayStation 2 with a further reduced total weight of the console.[15]
[edit] PlayStation 3
The original PlayStation 3
Main article: PlayStation 3

Released on November 11, 2006, the PlayStation 3 is the third and current iteration in the series. It competes with the Xbox 360 and the Wii in the seventh generation of video game consoles. It is the first console in the series to introduce the use of motion controls in games through the use of the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller along with other features, such as Blu-ray Disc and Full High-definition resolution graphics capability. The PlayStation 3 comes in 20 GB, 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 160 GB, 120 GB, and 250GB, with the last two being the current models. It features a Slim model similar to its predecessors. As of September 30, 2009, the PlayStation 3 has sold 33.5 million units worldwide, according to Sony Computer Entertainment.[16]

Source is wikipedia.

but here are first specs on the 360SLIM

We're touching the new, slimmer Xbox 360 right now at the Microsoft E3 event, and we've got more details on the console and its hardware. The new Xbox has touch-sensitive on/off and eject buttons and built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi. There are ports for optical audio, A/V, HDMI, ethernet, and a custom port for the Kinect connection, as well as five USB ports. Only the standard A/V component cables come with the system (the same cables that come with the current model), so the HDMI cable is still separate. The power supply is all new and much smaller, and the console itself is "whisper quiet," with just one large fan instead of two, placed specifically on the side of the console to improve acoustics. The system makes a little chime when you flip it on as well, and the disc drive still sounds the same when it spins up.

The hard drive is 250GB, and there's a tab on the bottom that you can pull out to replace it if necessary. Transfer software is built into the system this time, so all you have to do is plug one end of the cable (available for $19.99) into the system, the other end into the hard drive, and then transfer away -- no disc needed. The case is black and glossy, smaller and thinner than the white version. The console will come with one standard wireless controller, backwards compatible with previous versions of the hardware, of course. All of the accessories are black, including the chatpad. It feels lighter to hold than the original Xbox -- not that you'd be moving it around much.

yes we had more, but sony made a better version of the console every time. Playstation::PS1. Ps2::slim PSP::2k,3k,go PS3::slim

xbox:: NOTHING
360::slim

nintendo as NEVER had too. notice the consoles and how they JUST WORK.

but notice, ps3 had wifi first time, bluray first time and built in, had bluetooth first time, removable upgradeable 2.5 inch Laptop HDD you didnt need to get an idiot over priced custom one.

the time it took microsoft to do any of that...... well, your (failed) HDDVD player WASNT built in and was a (late) periferal. uh, bluetooth mic? nope. hdd you can replace with any 2.5 inch HDD? no, not really. if you removed the shell and were ready to void your warranty, sure i guess. usb port and easy media sharing? ha. took me and my friend hours to figure out with their idiot manual. starting to sound like MAC....... XP

now, this doesnt mean i dont want a 360, of course i do, but im pointing out how much i trust them over sony. ps3 hasnt failed me. my xbox sure as hell did.

This is debatable when you consider that the PS One was plagued with laser problems.

The PS2 also had laser problems. In the case of the PS2 after you consider the slim versions there were over 15 console hardware revisions!

My PS3 was a laser repair and there is a slim model of that as well.

I don't know if $ony finally fixed their laser issues or not.

All I have to say is that Microsoft just wants to milk you for money. They purposely left out features so that you would have to buy the extra equipment. That's why when they released many of the SKU's of the 360, they purposely left out stuff that were necessities such the WiFi adapter, hard drive, and even the little memory cards.
The Wii did this, too. You have to buy like 10 different controllers.

EDIT: Why are there multiple threads about this, now? Some of them should be closed.
