Had an interview at Best Buy, today

W00t! Someone finally called me back! I'm excited!
It's high up there on the list of places that I want to work. I was interviewed today by two people at once and they absolutely loved me. I told them about how I'm into gadgets and computers and stuff and NHS, Football, and I know some of the people that work there, already. "Oh, Garth?! I love him!" is what one of them said to me. :D It was the lady that was saying this. The other guy looked like a big nerd so he really was understanding and agreeing with what I was saying when I was talking really technical and l33t to him.
They also talked about the iPhone 4 being released there. They were making jokes about taking some and like winking at each other! O_O Haha. I'll be working in the cell phone department and probably be handling all the crazy customers when then new iPhone is released on June 24th. The lady was really pleased with me and wants me to come back next Wednesday for a follow-up interview and with her and the general manager.
(To all you people in Europe, Best Buy is a huge electronics store. I think they finally opened on in the UK, recently.)

I used to work at Best Buy as a stock guy behind the building.
Was excruciating having lift stuff onto the truck.

I actually had a little accident. I was on my break and this guy was using the fork lift to
stack these boxes of laptops into a crate. I was telling him a joke stupidly while the guy was
working, and he must have lost his focus or something and the boxes literally flipped over.

We then had to unbox all of the laptops and test to see if they were still working.
Fortunately the only thing that was broken was one AC adapter.

Never told the manager about it.

Made $18 an hour I think.

I'm assuming you did their online application too?

They only have an online application option, now. I hate it because all of the volunteer work that I do I couldn't put on the application. They said to put all the prior work experience in the same form, so required fields were things such as, "What time you started working," "Starting wage," and "Company name." Some of the stuff I couldn't fill out and it made me kinda mad to see that they would get the wrong impression of me. How would they expect me to fill out that kind of stuff for volunteering at the Special Olympics?

Congrats! Have you heard back from them yet? I did about a year stint as a Geek Squad manager, and overall manager of Computer Sales. It was double duty, but it was still pretty rewarding. The best thing about that place was the people I worked with, no doubt. Also, the little headsets are awesome.

Haha. The lady told me as she was walking me out that they would call today or tomorrow for a follow up on Wednesday. They didn't know what time, yet, so she was going to call and tell me what time. I basically got the job. :P

Wooo congrats man! It's alot of fun, especially when the people are cool. Plus, your discounts on things like cables, speakers, and LCDTVs is AMAZING. You'd be amazed at how much they mark-up those gold-plated cables.

Grats dude, I'm applying there today! Well for geek squad, mind as well apply for like a sales associate though can't hurt. Haven't really heard back from most places. It seems stuff like a A+ certification doesn't help applying at like pep boys or autozone lol.

Usually if they call you back, you're almost guaranteed. That means you meet their criteria, so as long as you don't look like a d-bag or something you will get the job. If you were toothless, they might decline.

Best Buy rarely wastes their time with people who don't meet their on-paper expectations already.

Don't worry. I've never had a problem with anything like that before.

How strange, because when I worked there, there weren't any requirements at all.
The only thing I can think of that you'd need the least bit of experience for is manager.

I honestly don't think you have any idea on how they hire >_>

No, I did not lol. Apparently, finding a job in California is pretty impossible nowadays. Haha.

Yeah it sucks. I know the feeling of trying to get a job but then hearing the position has been taken.
