3D In Style

So we have all almost experienced 3D recently with huge films like Avatar, Alice and Wonderland, Clash of the Titans, The Last Air Bender and so on. No matter how good or bad the 3D has been, we have all had to deal with "The Glass's" I don't mean them in a general term, but the ones that cost less then a gumball and are plastic. Now with today's technology we have been able to bring down the cost of the glass's so much that they are in a consumer zone, not only for price but style.

These beauties cost only $99 a pair. When you think about it and how many 3D films we will be seeing in the future the price is basically is a steal instead of buying a new pair each time you see a movie.

I will be buying a pair once they become available for order. Now remember these glass's are just for RealD 3D movies, the ones you see in the movie theaters. These will not work with current 3D TV's as they use shutter glass's, and these are Polarized.

Wait... Why would you buy these for the movies? Aren't the glasses free in Canada? I get them free with the purchase of a ticket.

When they first came out you had to buy them. I didn't know these were now free, because I usually brought my own pair that I had kept from before. But I guess these are free now. Either way I would rather spend the money on these then have to deal with the pain and annoyance of the plastic ones.

I just think the price is a little steep for the comfort that they may offer.

In Canada at most of our theaters we have something called Scene Cards/Points I don't know if this is in anywhere else such in the USA. Anyways I have a Scene debit and visa card. The more I spent and use the more points I get. Once you get 1000 points you get one free movie. I have enough free movies to cover the cost of the glass's. So it doesn't really bother me ;)
But even if I didn't I would still take the cost for comfort deal.

Oh, okay. That makes a little more sense. We have something similar to that in the US with credit and debit card spending rewards.

I wonder if they would give you a headache wearing them all the time.

Thats cool. For the prices of movies, I think its well worth it.

100 points per ticket with a normal card
100 points per ticket with a debit card + you get points per transaction
100 points per ticket with a visa card + you get points for ever $x amount of dollars

It adds up over time if you go enough and its kind of nice you also get % 10 discount on concession.

I really think glass's like what I posted should be free though, they are the ones pushing 3D they should also push the technology and the reduction of price. They also need to create a standard. Going from Polarized in the theater to Shutter in the home. Just pick one technology and stick with it.

What do you mean by all the time? They are not normal prescription glass's + 3D if you are thinking that. You would only wear these in the theater during the 3D movie. I'm not sure if I understood you correctly.

See my problem is I have to wear my 3D glasses over my other glasses, I must find a way to combine the two and get my prescription with the 3D glasses.

Contacts.
I do hate having to take my contacts out every night when I'm about to fall out but it sure beats wearing glasses all day. That and it makes it a lot easier for my to wear 3D glasses, or wear whatever sunglasses I want to as opposed to getting prescription sunglasses.

How do they ruin peoples eyes? That and glasses aren't that much cheaper, or at least not for me. But yea, thats just me. I love my contacts, sooo much nicer when your workin on something and you don't have to worry about your glasses getting in the way.

Nvm about the cheaper part, I guess you could make an argument that you have to pay for sailin' solution and such.

Re: 3D In Style

Most of my friends or relatives who got contacts ruined their eyes, I'm not sure how or what, but a couple of them needed a laser thing done later....
