Close Country Relations

I know what it's like for Canadians and Americans, But I'm wondering what it's like for European countries, is it somewhat similar in nature, or do you guys get in bar fights, etc? I'm really curious about these types of things.

BTW: For any Europeans, this type of thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrA4V6YF6SA
But for Europe.

I know us Canadians make fun of Americans and vice-versa, but it's usually in good fun.

Oh, and Irish, how are you guys getting along with the Brits now-a-days?

Re: Close Country Relations

i'm a born and bred Southern American. :P was born in Cali and moved to Alabama when i was month old my Da is First Generation Irish-American my grandparents came from Cork dunno where and we still have kin over there don't talk to em though. anyways on topic the British have left Ireland alone for awhile now. i think the English have finally got it through their thick skulls there is no Give-Up in the Irish. the only time you will ever catch them fighting again is if Ireland faces England in Soccer or Rugby then the Hooligans come out to play. :P it's kinda like Australia where it's technically a part of the UK but they let them rule themselves. although i think the British have finally given up on complete control of Ireland since the IRA pushed them out in the late 80s

Re: Close Country Relations

That's great in my opinion. Ireland should have always been Independent, That whole control thing should have ended generations before it did, such a shame.

Re: Close Country Relations

Re: Close Country Relations

Yeah, the Romans were some mean mother f**kers. They were almost alien in technology compared to most countries at that time.

Re: Close Country Relations

exactly the romans didn't play. and it's pretty bad when people who wore nothing but furs prevented them from coming into their country. also alot of people outside of Ireland don't know this but in the 1500s the English attempted to invade Ireland but were pushed out by the last High King of Ireland Brian Boru. he was the High King because he got all the Clans to put aside their differences and band together and push them out which they did of course he wound up getting beheaded afterwards but that was the deal,if they pushed the English out the Clans could kill him and if they Didn't they could kill him also, So the Irish Clans viewed that as a Win-Win.

Indeed. I'm glad they have internet back on. We can read from their point of view.

Re: Close Country Relations

Well, they made the ISP's do it and since internet and phones work through the same line, people could connect to a free French ISP through dial-up. :P
