Not only should they get the death penalty, they should be shot in front of other inmates in prisons so that they won't ever do it when they are released.

gman, what do you think justifies killing one who has killed? I don't mean to call you out... I'm actually on the fence about this whole thing. I don't think people should be killed through this means, but at the same time, they deserve worse punishment than life in prison.

Lawyers make money by winning cases. In fact its not about actually being guilty now-a-days, its about making things look as much in your favor as you can after the fact. Take for instance all the people who've killed people and gotten as little as 5 years.
Now, the other side of this. One lawyer believes that without a reasonable doubt this man is responsible for a murder. He's a poor man, and can afford no good lawyer, so one is provided to him.
Who's fault is it that an innocent man dies?
This is a question thats 30 years out-of-date. There should be no capital punishment for the simple reason that you can 'punish' the wrong person, simple and true.
