Cultural Discomfort With Mood Tracking

My cultural background views daily emotional check ins as self indulgent. I was raised to push through difficulties without analyzing my feelings constantly. Does any app respect different cultural approaches to mental health or do they all assume one universal Western model? I need something that fits my actual values.

Re: Cultural Discomfort With Mood Tracking

Daily emotional check ins feel self indulgent in my culture too. We were raised to push through, not analyze feelings. The liven app never demands daily anything. You can use it once a week when something big hits. That fits my values better than Western style constant checking. What helped me was reframing the app as a problem solving tool, not an emotional journal. I only open it when I am actually stuck on a decision or procrastination. Then I do one cognitive behavioral therapy exercise and close it. Before committing, liven reviews from people with similar cultural backgrounds showed me this flexible approach works. No forced vulnerability. Just practical tools when needed.
