I'd suggest finding a .PNG file with an alpha channel.
Type in, 'Left 4 Dead logo filetype:png' whenever you are using Google Images.
This would be something like what you find:
You can put things behind it without editing much.
Useful for finding logos.

Just use one on top of a cool gradient background, and use http://www.cooltext.com/ to make a cool text for your name.

Speaking about text, you can get a bunch of fonts at http://www.dafont.com/

Try to smooth out the white glow around the guy on the right to make it more natural.
