If you cannot get this to work, or you can get it to work, please let me know, and tell which which FW you have so I can add to this list. It's nice and simple, it ought to help out some people. Here is the compatibility that I know so far:

_____________XMB______UMD______ISO______Emus_______Homebrew______
3.71 M33-4] Yes Yes Yes Yes Some
3.90 M33 ] Yes No No No No
3.52 M33
____________________________________________________________________

First download this file.

Copy/Paste all those files under the 'SEPLUGINS' folder in the root of your memory stick.
(*NOTE*) - If you don't have an 'SEPGLUINS' folder in the root of your memory stick (x:/SEPLUGINS), create one.

***Unless you already have a vsh.txt or game.txt file. Then you will want to open up those files in the .ZIP and copy/paste the text into the corresponding files you have on your memory stick.

Now you are ready to start up your game.

1. Once the game fully boots, press 'HOME + NOTE' to mute your game.
2. Press 'SQUARE + NOTE' to bring up the music menu.
3. Then press 'NOTE + START' to begin listening to your music.
4. You can cycle your music while pressing 'NOTE + RIGHT/LEFT directional buttons'.

But if you want to listen to the music in the XMB, just do steps 2-4.

Well thats the basics, there are more controls inside the Music.conf file in the ZIP.

I slightly edited this, but good work. I've added it to the master tutorial list already.

I wish they added more support for listening to the music. Like Atrac!
And .Mid!

Is there an update for CFW 4.01? I'd like to do this hack.

(Update)

Umm, never mind guys, was able to find a cool video tutorial on it.

Here is the tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrxA7ju54bo

And here is the download for music_prx_fw390: http://files.filefront.com/16740+music+ ... einfo.html

Since I have the CWCHEAT feature on my PSP, I didn't have to create or transfer the entire "seplugins" folder. Instead, I just had to transfer the following files: music.prx, music_config.txt, and vsh.txt I did have to edit the game.txt file and include an extra line (after the CWCHEAT line) to include the "ms0:/seplugins/music.prx" line. I also had to do this to the game_150.txt file also. (So if you guys tend to have those files, simply open them and add the extra line after it. If for some odd reason, your files have the line of the other plugin and it ends with a square, be sure to delete the square. I think the guy editing that txt file, must have used wordpad and that square at the end must represent a return command or something.)

Then I proceed to follow the instructions in the video tutorial on editing the music_conf.tx file. be sure to follow it precisely, so it operates correctly.

Then I turned off my PSP and then turned it on in recovery mode, followed the video instructions once again (i.e. turning off vsh menu and turning on all the plugins and etc.)

Hope this helps! BTW, it plays great on a CFW 4.01!! Now I am gonna mute all the music from all my games and play my own MP3s.

Isn't that what you need to do for every PRX file? VSH.txt always needs to be updated with the new .prx file's location on the MS so that it shows up in recovery. Anyway, I'll give it a go on 5.0m33, :)
