[Tutorial] Downgrading 2.80 PSP TA-82-TA-86

This is a tutorial to downgrade a 2.80 firmware PSP (TA-82 or TA-86).

You Do NOT Need GTA LCS!!!


What we need:
2.80 Hen
TA-82 Downgrading Files
1.5 Update Eboot



Plug your USB cord into the computer and into your PSP

Step 1: Open the 2.80 Hen files you downloaded and cope the folder in the drive your psp is (Example: G: ). If you dont get a folder and a lot of files then extract the files to your desktop and they will change into a folder.

Open the TA-82 Downgrader file you downloaded and copy the folder in the G: or whatever your drive is for your PSP. Do the same thing if you see a lot of files.

Rename the 1.5 update eboot to UPDATE.PBP. Then copy them to /psp/game/UPDATE

2. On your PSP go to the Photo Menu and then enter the HEN 280 folder.
If your PSP freezes just keep trying to open HEN. It took my friends about 40 times until his actually worked.

Red - The files couldn't be read. Try again

Blue - The files were successfully read

4. Execute the 2.80 idstorage changer.

5.Now execute "Update X.YX"

If it worked restart your psp and it will give you a blue screen with a lot of languages on it. just press "O".

Enjoy! You should know have a 1.50 firmware!

When this had first come out, people were saying that it did work on version 2.81 but I would NOT trust their credibility.

If I were you, I'd try to rent the GTA game from Blockbuster or something.

It`s funny you say this is a somewhat unstable downgrader, because I`ve downgraded 3 TA and 2 non TA PSP`s and every single one of them kicked donkey in the DG department. Just follow the Directions and everything will be okay. Next time I do this, I`ll try to make a vid just so that it can be seen.

It may work 95% of the time, but actually RP, a great many people had problems with this when it was released. I'd also recommend doing the 2.71 downgrader or the 3.03 downgrader. Those are generally stable as a rock.

Yea I guess some people are just perfect lol. But seriously, I've never used this downgrader. I wouldn't think I'd have any issues with it either, but I was on the scene when it was released and know of a few people that had bricks because of it.
