CFW psps can run homebrew. Well i think the installer is a 1.50 app, do you have a phat psp with the 1.50 addon?

hopefully this is the right tutorial to get my PSP running homebrew games, CSO files, and Emulators... if not could someone let me know?

i've gotten as far as step 15 in PacMan's Tutorial, but i've hit a wall... I installed all the files mentioned but when i run the "Pnadora's Battery Firm. Installer" i get a message that says "The game could not be started (8002014C)...

can anyone please help!?

also... does this tutorial change my firmware from 3.80 M33-5 to a Custom Firmware?

Thanks.

3.80 M33-5 is a Custom Firmware?

You need a psp with custom firmware in order to run the pandora nstaller since it is a homebrew app.

i'm not sure if it's a CFW... when i purchased the PSP it had the 3.80 M33-5 FW on it.

i checked the system information and it says that the System Software is 3.80 M33-5... is that already a CFW? if so what do i need to do from here? the PSP only came with the battery, the unit, and the charger but no memory stick (but i've purchased one).

thanks.

You are on custom firmware! :D
is it a phat or slim psp?
You can play emulators and stuff, but certain ones depending on your psp version.

Updated Tutorial. Added more to various aspects of the tutorial and further clarified things. Removed out-dated material. Added common problems/ solutions to the FAQ. I also made a new logo/ banner / title picture

Hope it helps anybody that needs it. I'm guessing there are a lot of people that do since this thread has over 45,000 hits alone... but who knows? ;)

Questions regarding this thread should still be placed in this thread.

No. In fact, I haven't heard any reports of anything wrong happening to the batteries when used with fake serials. It was a theoretical possibility when pandora's battery was new, but doesn't happen. I've debated about taking it out of the tutorial or not but haven't because I don't KNOW for SURE if it's happened before or not.
