Well, After hours of cussing and play by plays to an absent Brentbizzle on MSN messenger (i'm sure it was entertaining to you reading eff this eff that) I bring to you...my first sound reactive trigger mod. I had no experience in soldering whatsoever, but finally got the hang of it towards the end. Anyways, without further ado...heres the link to the video...Flashing...Lights...

I'm planning on writing a tutorial for this, but didnt take any pictures because the quality of my cameras zoom feature sucks. So if you're willing to help either search for pictures or send pictures that i could use for the tutorial let me know.

Haha... sorry about that man. I wasn't at my computer through most of your moding process, but I did have a funny transcript to go back to after you had signed off MSN.

I can't check the vid yet cause my work network has youtube blocked, but I'll be sure to check it out. I'm sure it looks awesome... after all, it's staxx we're talking about. haha

Believe me though man, I had my share of frustrations when I moded my fat a while back with 4 leds, only for all of that to be in vein when I attempted to mod my fat with an sd card slot (which didn't work by the way, and I never went back to the project, so I ripped out my leds for NOTHING).

I'm almost done the tutorial...just mainly need some pictures.

I plan to do this to a broken slim a friend gave me, swap the power and charge led's, memory stick led, add a jewel on the door, led's in the door. But i dont think i'll be getting to that for a month or so. I got an idea that maybe your experience and knowledge might be able to give me a hand with brent, i'll send a pm to you.

as long as theres a speaker, you should be able to do the sound reactive thing.

this is pretty sweet, I like it, will it work the same way on a slim?

Its similar, the only thing thats different is how you drill the triggers, and how the wires are soldered for the speakers. I think acidmods.com has a tutorial for the slim led trigger buttons. If youve never opened a slim before, the speakers have contact points on them that connect with contact points on the motherboard. You would have to solder to the points on the motherboard, the triggers have a plastic piece that sits underneath it, you would have to drill thru that plastic piece as well as into the trigger and it would be in the opposite direction (horizontal opposed to vertical for fats. If youre doing this, make sure you remember to bend your wires so the led emits light outwards.
