it made the screen flash, but still no memory stick icon, its strange because the emulators can still save states, and it still makes the noise when i connect my psp to my computer, the removable drive icon for the mem stick just isnt on the my computer list... so it still saves, it just isnt recognized as a valid drive by my computer... doesnt make sense that the computer would make the noise as if it was working though....

Well do u know what letter the drive is? (E:/ H:/)??? If so, open up My Computer, and where u can type on the address bar type in the drive letter for instance just type E:/ (e being the letter your drive is). See if that works.

So even when you type it in after you connect it and it makes the noise it still wont let you type in "G:\" in the address bar???

I reccomend trying different things-
1. Use a different device with the same USB cable. See if that works.
2. Use a different USB cable, with the PSP. See if that works.
3. Use a different device with a different USB cable.
1 should determine if the problem is your USB cable. If 3 doesnt work its your usb drive. Just mix and match and fill the holes in for yourself.

u might want to try a system restore to the date it DID work when u pluged it in. try it and see, u can always undo ur last restoration if it doesnt work. What have u got to lose.

when i tryed to type the G:/ it acted like it didnt exist, so i took the advice to try my mp3 player to comp, and that worked... alas, psp still will not show up... truely puzzled, i wish i hadnt given my whimpy 32 mb stick away now... i will get another mem stick to see if the problem is in fact my memory stick or my psp.
But why would it make the noise still when i plug in the psp to my computer if it doesnt recognize it as a drive???
a miracle!

it seems that when i took the memory stick out and reinserted the stick, the problem was solved!! strange it would load the roms and save states before if it wasnt geting a proper connection...

i dont know about you guys but theres something wrong with the memory stick that the magicgate makes...like I have a 256 and like i empty ever file and music and everything...but it only sayd i have 229mb. I know this is normal(maybe) but like, why would it be called a 256 when theres only 229?

some of it is used for formating and stuff, but wat would be better is if they put extra megs in the stick for formatting so that u actuall hav 256 or watever
