Sony is giving us more flash0!

They took away the certificate utility so it could leave more space in the flash0. This is a sign for a major update I think.

So THAT'S why there's no Certificate in the new 3.40

Not like it matters though, we all know how to make more room in the flash already anyways, but it's still good to know.

Well... either they made more room for US... or they made more room for THEM... and since they keep adding security updates to their firmware(s), I'm going to have to use my incredible logic and go out on a limb and guess that they didn't exactly clear more flash0 for us.

what was certificate utility for?

I think that it is because the certificate utility had a glitch in it, that is my theory, and I am sticking with it.
