If your getting random pop ups its probably adware. :P But yea use any anti spyware/adware/virus program to scan for all 3 and just delete it[the adware] like he said^^

I also recommend something for your registry.

A very good registry cleaner program that you should
"buy" ;-) is RegCure. It's amazing.

Anothter great piece of software is Registry Mechanic.
Both are excellent.

And getting SpyBot won't hurt either.

holy hell, no way.
Don't EVER format your hardrive
over a piece of malicious code.

If you use the programs i recommended
plus AVG, you will be all set.

not true...one its recamended that you reformat every couple months or so anyways....

and also if he is really infected with adware he wont get rid of it....its prolly too late and whenever ive had my computer that bad and yes ive used everything YOU have mentioned plus quite a bit more....it doesnt get rid of it...its embedded too deep...

its better and less trouble to back ur s**t up and reformat....reformatting is good anyways...just make sure to back up anything important

I've never heard anyone recommend formating hard drives
every two months...
but if you're sure, then I believe you.

I've never heard of reformatting every month or two months or anything like that. Not that it's a bad thing but it's just generally stupid to do because there would be no reason. But anyways, it IS recommended that you run scandisk and defrag about every 2 weeks.

Good luck O.o Yea wouldn't formatting your hd be bad every 2 months? Well I mean after a while continually formatting it, (seems like it would) permanently damage some clusters. Just start by scanning your computer every 2 weeks and that would definitely help prevent anything going wrong, and be way better then formatting all the time and loosing all those precious programs..... :)

Yeah, I know one is supposed to scan a minimum
of once ever couple weeks to a month.

But I'm not so sure about the whole formatting thing...
