I need a .avi codec

Title says all. For some reason I don't have a .avi codec or a program that will run .avi by default. Any help would be appreciated.

What media player are you using?

there are a few things you can do....you can either get divx player...

google and dl for 'media player classic'

or google and dl 'vlc' player

all of which will allow u to play avi

To me, codecs are so out-dated.

VLC media player is the way to
go in terms of media.

It will SERIOUSLY play ANYTHING
that's a media file. even those
awkward russian video formats.
Even if it doesn't recognize it, it will
still play it! lol

it's purely amazing.

oh yeah, so much better than any media player out there, I love it!

VLC player is great right now im using Media Player Classic tho....its the same basic thing...it has all codecs with it for like every media type...

both are great and work the same

I have one on a disc that has the k lite plugins or... something. I never needed to use it because I was fine without it but now that I need it I can't find it. It's all good though.

Xvid, VLC, and http://www.cccp-project.net/ That will allow you to play any file that exists.

VLC will play anything? might have to try that out sometimes.

But I still might need to keep my WMP for streaming videos on the
net.

VLC can do that also.

PSPRuler, you must not have heard me and PSP_Man right, it plays anything

Besides, Windows media player sucks so much genitalia.

And Jet Audio is good for making lots of play lists and it takes up like No power when it runs.

Combine the two, and you will laugh at WMP's s**tty abilities.
