PSP's cracked LCD screen.

I remember someone on here
(sorry can't remember the name)

that had like 4 PSPs said that he bought
PSP with broken LCDs and fixed them.

Hey, man if you're reading this, can you
tell me where you get yours for
$35.00??

And is this Canadian dollars, or American?

Yeah, I was actually
looking for a place
to get the LCD screen.

I'd rather fix the PSP
myself.

And is it that hard??

I've never openen my
PSP before, but one of
my three PSP has a cracked
screen that i want to
replace. Do you think
it would be easy to figure
out what goes where once
i get it open??

Really?

Damn, that sucks.
But like .Yunoko
said, can I find
some tutorials on
this kinda thing??

'cause fixing the PSP
LCD screen will give me
a brand-new homebrew
capable PSP.

Is the screen itself smashed? Or is the plastic faceplate (above the lcd screen) smashed? Some people don't understand how thick the faceplate is... but yea, I'm assuming you would know. I'm just trying to possibly help you out.

Darkpacman-
Thanks for trying to help.
But, it's the actaul screen
that's broken, not the face
plate. I do need another
faceplate, however.

Kingcoke-
Yeah, man--I think it was you
that said something about the
$35.00 LCD screen. Thanks for
the tip : )

Staxx-
Thanks a lot for the tutorial,
it'll be a great help when i
rip up my PSP lol

And can somebody please recommend
a good SAFE AND RELIABLE site where
i can get some inexpensive PSP faceplates
and LCD screen?

Thanks, again, for everyone's help : )

The very cheapest faceplate that I have seen for purchase is at nextpsphacks.com. They have a small, privately-run shop there and they sell "custom faceplates". They sell a clear faceplate for $13 and if you want it custom-painted, you can get that done for $20. It's a good deal, but I wouldn't recommend the custom paint job because whoever does the custom job, although seemingly professionally done, seems to have gotten the screen size wrong in the examples I have seen.

I'd definitely recommend getting the $13 clear plate though, that is, unless you prefer a black one.

ive gotten a faceplate cheaper than that, if you go on ebay you can find really cheap ones. I got a clear one for 1 cent (with $8 in shipping) and amusingly it was good quality and high priority mail. it came in less than a week.

Well is it possible to get just about ANYTHING cheaper off of ebay? - yes. It's just questionable as to the quality of the product or longer shipping times etc. We've all heard of the "horror stories" on ebay. It worked out for you, but at the same time, most faceplates off of ebay that I've seen are going for more than $13.
