I've decided to cease OE development, and leave PSP scene. The reasons are various. One of them is the time it consumes, which I'm losing from other things. The other is related to my security. I didn't like Sony menaces to PS3 hackers. I think it is better to leave now rather than end paying the consequences.

What about the message found while decrypting the 3.51?
I've read in another board that there is a line of code that Sony made directly to him, and this is what made him decide to leave. Any proof?

well there is the IE firmware, but the developer isn't anywhere near where DAX was

....Didnt he just announce the other day that he was working on 3.51 oe-a and skipping 3.50 oe-a? Damn man...Sony finally got to him. Now the psp is gonna really suck...Sony just ruined their sales even more.

This just sucks because Sony is going to make a new firmware and there will be no custom firmware to play new games/movies that come out (only be able to if we have an ISO/CSO of it or Devhook).

He's an inspiration, but in a year we will stop playing the psp for good

The scenes not going to die other coders I'm sure will step up, and release their own custom firmwares.

This is truly a tragedy. Dark Alex did a fantastic job with his previous custom firmwares and the 2.71 downgrader that shocked the psp world.

wow this sucks and me just getting a psp for fathers day wonder how long before .iso's stop playing on 3.40 oe-a

I retain my faith in the psp homebrew community. If such a "message" exists, why isn't it being made public? I'd bet more than anything that we will see a 3.51 oe before we see the end of Dark_Alex... or even the beginning of this "message".

False or not, this is the internet. Information spreads and different coders step up to the challenge. To assume that there isn't someone out there that is more talented than Dark_Alex is just plain wrong. He's good, but a great many more are much better.
