I just don't get it.....

You guys are so uptight about the "off-topic" thing. Have you ever had a conversation with someone? The topic changes even though its the same converstation. If I made a topic every time I changed the subject, you all would throw a fit over how many topics there are. I can see the problem in other forums if they are off topic, but this is the General Chat. It's here to talk about whatever the hell we want to. I guess this is just more for the mods that every time someone says something I see "OMFG UR OFF TOPIC CHANGE IT NOW". It's not a big deal in the general section, again think about when you talk to someone, you change subjects all the time. Either way just calm down a bit on this board paticular. Keep it up in the others.

Exactly. I don't know if people understand what moderating is. Go look at any popular forum like ign or gamespot. I've never seen a mod continuosly say "OH EM GE3 THIZ IS T3H OFF-T0P1c!!1!!1!!!!11!". They either lock topics that need to be locked, or correct swearing....thats about it, thats all our job is here. People just need to calm down.

You know you started that over nothing... Sorry, but we do have rules about staying on topic. If you haven't noticed I barely lock topics or any of that. But the rules are stay on the topic of the thread. The person who made the thread made it for a reason. If you wanna say something about something completely off topic then make a new thread. Like you did. If this board was nothing but a conversation then we would just have one big thread. I just mentioned that diehard was breaking the rules. He was acting like a mod and not staying off topic. If you don't wanna follow the rules then don't. Or change them. Your making a big fuss over one thing.

justinwoodypond has a point. Now I don't know what speciic posts/thread you are referring to, but if a thread naturally goes off-topic then I see nothing wrong with that. For example, in the bricked Wii thread, it turned into a discussion about Sony/PS3. It naturally turned that way when someone made a comment about forgetting the Wii and getting a PS3. That in my opinion is fine. Conversation does change.

To me an off topic post would be talking about a Wii bricking and someone posting that they like pie... yeah, that's pretty off topic and does nothing for the thread.

I think what we need to avoid is a crap load of open threads. I mean, look at maxconsole... yeah, they're unorganized, but you have all these open threads and it's almost impossible to find a thread you posted in the day before.

I wasn't necassraily talking to you. I'm just saying every topic i go into someone is saying "STAY ON TOPIC". I agree with you, people who arent mods shouldn't say anything.

@brentbizzle
It was on the M33 thread, people got to talking about the legality of modchips, then out of no where diehard tells h4s30 that he should make his own thread thread due to a post he made a couple of posts ago. Even after everyone moved on then he says that h4s30 needs to make his own thread. So yea. He broke one rule, and I think that qualifies him as being off topic. But then again I just said that diehard was off topic because he said h4s30 was off topic, even though diehard said what he said. So yea. I don't care if threads slowly get off topic but if it's a post that like diehard said then yea.

I try not to say things like that all the time. But when I do, all I really say is like something back on the original topic. No consequences for anyone or nothing. If yall want to complain about that then go ahead. But there is a rule saying don't act like a mod. What Mailas says is out of my control though, so I guess we will have to live with his actions. lol.

Ugh. Not this again. Can't we all get along? We take 1 step forward than two steps back.

justin just wants to rant a lil because its flustering
and damnit i wasn't off topic lol just read it sort of i was trying to make a joke
