Oh ****! Please someone help me with my slim! (Not a n00b!)

Ok, let's get to the point. I have a 1.5 psp phat, and a 3.60 psp slim

What I'm trying to do is upgrade my psp slim to CFW 3.71 M33 update 2.

I made the battery (It's done, and sitting out of my psp phat. I deleted the recovery file, which sucks because I'll have to use a fake serial now), but after I run mspformat, and install all the stuff for Despertar del Cementerio. When I try to launch the file, It gives me a black screen and says "The Game Could not be started (80020001)" and I get no msipl.bin in my root to run with CD's msinst. How the flying **** can I get this to work? It says something about "Use the app under a cfw with 2.x or 3.x kernel (be sure that kernel is selected on recovery to the correct one (2.x or 3.x))"

So do I have to upgrade my psp phat to a custom firmware to run Despertar del Cementerio?

Is this on the Phat PSP? And try a newer version like v3 is you are not already.

Yes I'm running this from the psp phat. I have the newest version 3, that I downloaded from DAX's site.. I'm not a n00b, just all this **** made more confusing than it should be.

So I haven't ruined anything.. Yet... Besides the battery that's already converted!

Ohhhh duuuuh,i knwo why. It has to be run from the 3.xx kernel. Go to recovery and change that. Sorry should have got that the first time,lol i used the thing yesterday after all.

How do I change that once I'm in recovery? I get the options.

Press X to downgrade using ms0:/UPDATE.PBP. (Which currently isn't on the memory stick due to me renaming it to 15.pbp for despertar)
Press O to backup nad to ms0:/nand-dump.bin.
Press [] to restore nad from ms0:/nand-dump.bin.

My psp phat is running on 1.5.

Well you can use version 1.0 ,that doesnt need a 3.xx kernel. and would be a lot safer then those,oh you dont need a phat PSP just dont mess up! tutorials.

Can someone give me the link to the tutorial for putting cfw on the slim? I have a Pandora and jigkick but I want to make sure I understand how to do it before I brick my slim.
