Yea, if you ask me it's pretty easy to make the pandora battery with only one psp. From what I understand, all you need to do is desolder some point on it. Which means you could either stick some desoldering braid on it and stick the soldering iron ontop of it for a couple seconds, and it will be done. Or you could use a desoldering pump. This time just stick the soldering iron (I'd suggest a ~20 or ~25 watt for the battery, won't take as long as a 15 watt and there better for desoldering) onto the point you need to desolder, melt the solder, then push in the pump and stick it right above the point and let go of the pump so it sucks up all the solder. Easy as that. By far any soldering novice should be able to do something as simple as that. You could like take apart a old electronic toy first and practice desoldering on that first too.
You could also make the memory stick first, that way you can use your psp to make it. I'm not sure if you can, but I recall reading somewhere that you can.
But yes, your method should work. YOu just need to go buy the supplies, soldering iron (20 or 25 watt), desoldering braid or desoldering pump, and some solder if you ever want to re use your battery as a regular battery instead of buying another one.

It's not the religion that causes wars, it's the men who use religion as a means to control people that do.
