Jap psp ??

I have a white japanese psp(phat) and i was wondering, will US video or music UMD's even register or will it simply not play the media? Because i put the UMD sampler disc in it and it only registered the umd in the game section, even though other psps can see the umd logo in the music and video sections on the xmb...

With a custom firmware installed you can go into the recovery menu and set the region on the PSP to Region Free, and all your UMD videos and music will work.
