My memory stick have a virus and i would like to format it since the virus can't be detected. It's a local virus called W32 worm trojan house generic2.OEH.
I want to know what happens if i format the memory stick? i mean, can i still access the m33 recovery menu? how formatting the memory stick affect my PSP? since i cant do a backup from the memory stick so i decided to format it.

It's pretty safe to reformat your stick. M33 won't go away that easy.. so format. I am curious as to how you got this virus on the stick? Might already be on your computer to start with?

Get Filer 4.9 and delete the virus manually.
Just look for any files in common that you didn't put there.
what about the other folders?

ye the virus is from my computer but when i realized it, it was too late.

yes, it will reconstruct your directory -- the only items lost will be your files

yes the best thing to do is...activate your usb, dont open anything, just leave it activated, now start your antivirus and it will ask what drives you want scanned, you check removable drive and it will scan your psp's hard drive(memory stick).if you had a virus it will be contained.

It's still just as safe and, I'd argue, even more effective to just format the memory stick - provided you've backed up your saves.
