Thanks in advance for anyone's help. Ok so I figured I'd expand my game library to ps1 games. I got Vigilante 8, Resident Evil 2, and MGS. Vigliante 8 is in iso format and its not there when i look for it(I tried my ISO folder(for current psp titles) and also switching between my GAME and GAME150 folders). The other 2 games are in eboot. format. My psp finds those but when i try to play them it'll freeze and shuts off after I get the "this game has been reconfigured for psp use.... etc." Do all ps1 games need to be in eboot. format? Sometimes I was asked which popsloader to use when i started the game(not to familiar with this). 3.0, 3.51, 3.52, orginal flash. Dont know which to select here. Regardless of which one i pick, it freezes and shuts off. Are there any settings in recovery mode I should change? Also, are ps2 games playable on psp yet? Well thanks again for anyone that can help me out. Oh by the way this DAX guy is really awesome and I'm a fan. Great work.

wow that's a lotta questions.
well I can help with the RE2 thing since i managed to get it working alright.
for popsloader, the best version to use is 3.40 for RE2.
popsloader basically loads different versions of pops, which correspond to firmware version, using popsloader, you can use that version of pops while running a different firmware version. i.e. 3.90m33
I put all my eboots in my GAME folder.
normally you use the PSARdumper to create the files needed for the pops version, but I managed to find a forum where someone posted all the pops files needed for any version.
Also, some games work better with different versions of pops, that's what the popsloader is for.
if you are making the EBOOTS yourself, you should also check to see if there are any special fixes for those games.
for instance, when making the RE2 eboot I had to set the gameID to 01222

ok well i'm not going to make the eboots myself. i prefer dl them for now. i don't know about gameID or PSARdumper either. whats the link for the popsloader? my problem is.. that it freezes and doesn't give me a shot to even pick a popsloader anymore. but thanks anyway.

Can these popsloader possible to be access back?
i mean most of the time these settings are to be set during the first initial run of the Eboot file and once i choose that particular popsloader, it will be set as default for that game. can i change that setting the next time i execute the eboot file? cause i don't know how to access those and i do have the same problem as him

wtf? that's interesting, I never realized you accessed pops on the psp itself, oh btw, downloading already in Eboot is ok, but if they were converted with an old popstation, then you'll need to decompile them then do it again using a more recent version, then again, maybe this popsloader is what fixes that, all i know is that none of my old eboots worked until i decompiled them and then recompiled them with a newer popstation GUI.
Resi 2 I have and it's worked perfectly for me, there's nothing in the recovery that should affect eboots only ISO and UMD, as for the ISO, the psp can't run ISO image files of PSX games, thats why we go through the trouble to pops.
You can't play ps2 games on psp, there's another thread on this forum that asks the same thing, the psp was advertised as a portable ps2 device, but it's hardware isn't quite up to par with the ps2 and to emulate it just isn't going to happen on current gen models.

Sort of quickly glanced thru some of the information you've layed out here... You havent mentioned any sort of customizations to your psp's flash drive. I havent been around for a while but if they havent fixed this.. your problem may be that you have a customized opening_plugin.rco. If this is correct, then your psx emulation is disabled. I wrote a work around tutorial to fix this problem a while back but its outdated so you'll have to find the newer files by googling. The tutorial should be up in the master guide of our tutorial section if you want to take a glance.

I HAVE 3.93 M33, and to be honest I can't seem to run any PSX games myself now, but when I was 3.90 M33 I could.
I've used a RSPsarDumper to get the .prx files and i've used an old popsloader which I didn't realize I had (I got it with an M33 update) but am having trouble myself :S the popslaoder doesn't seem to run when I open PSX eboots, the SE plugins folder is in the root of my mem stick.
If you can get this working, this is what should fix your problem too, as not all PSX games work, sometimes there is just a small bug in the file, either on the original ISO or when it was made (can even corrupt when being downloaded). Have you got many PSX Eboots to try out? Just so you know they are all having the same problem.
And the decompiling thing, it's actually a piece of cake, just download a popstation GUI (my latest one is RS-GUI PopstationMD v3.00. yeah thats a mouthful)
and it's pretty straight forward, you'll need to make your own PNG images but if don't have photoshop or the time to do it, there are many sites out there that offer pre-made folders with all you need in them for various PSX games.
P.S.
I forgot that you can't extract ISO's from Eboots with that popstation, I use my older one (AutoPopstation4) for that. All should be available in the "downloads" section of this site.
