ok so this is how it works..

i DL. then extract with winrar, after they are extracted i go
NesterJ 1.20.rar/1.5/NesterJ
NesterJ 1.20.rar/1.5/NesterJ%

i get the two files

nesterJ containing the files:

-SAVE (FOLDER)
-STATE (FOLDER)
-Debug (readme file)
-eboot.pbp
-famicom.dat
-MENU
-NESTERJ.CFG

NesterJ% contains:

- EBOOT.PBP

I Then placed these two files into my game150 folder.. then unplug my psp and run only to see the error code come up.

When you mean "two files" do you mean two folders? You are suppose to put the two folders (NesterJ and NesterJ% inside the Game150 folder. And then create a ROM folder inside the NesterJ folder (in case it doesn't already have one, then put all your NES Roms inside this folder. Be sure they are NES Roms. Do a Google search for NES Roms to be sure you are using the best ones--also the US versions are the best especially if it has (!) next to it.

Now then, I noticed that you are running a very old version for CFW 3.71. Please update your CFW to the latest version (I believe M33-4) click here: http://www.dark-alex.org/

Also be sure that when you update, you also update the Kernal 1.50 for your CFW to Version 2 for 3.71.

I am hoping to avoid any bugs in case your CFW version and the Kernal version had issues. Please let me know when you do this, so we can continue.

For your information, I am currently using CFW 3.90 M33-3 with Kernal 1.50 add-on for 3.90 version 2

See if your nester J loads now.. be sure not to click on the corrupt file, I will later teach you how to make that one invisible. Come back and report.

Okay let's go to the M33 Recovery Menu and do the following first:

  1. To enter Recovery mode, turn your psp totally off (not sleep mode), Hold R trigger and turn on at the same time, this is your Recovery Menu.
    • Now sometimes, doing upgrades it causes bugs, to fix, I recommend everyone who does an upgrade to "delete flash1 and reset settings" from recovery.
    • Go to Advanced and select "delete flash1 and reset settings"
  2. Also in Recovery is Configuration folder, make changes so it looks like this:
    • skip Sony logo - enabled
    • hide corrupt icons - enabled
    • game folder homebrew - 1.50 Kernal for homebrew (fat only and u need to install the 1.5 kernal addon patch for each different CF)
    • autorun program at - disabled (this is used to recover back to 1.5 or run a eboot if u mess up ur psp)
    • umd mode - sony np9660 (u dont need a umd in anymore, and it plays any iso/cso)
    • Use VshMenu - enabled
    • I have left the rest on default

Let me know when you did all this, if the NesterJ loads but you get an error when you run the ROM game, then I know for sure it's a bad ROM and you should google for some good NES Roms.

Let me know if you are successful.I have one more step for you.

i followed what you said.

and .. these are the results:

all my psp settings got reset (name, time, language, etc.)
whenever i do a coldboot and start it back up the game in my psp will automatically start.
my backgrounds wont stick *after i save a background it disapears*
and worst of all the nester dosent boot!! :(

you think you can give me a reliable ROM to use.. and tell me were to put it ..
i put it in the NesterJ folder in the "SAVE" folder looks like this PSP/GAME150/NesterJ/SAVE/ROM

Yes, that is normal when you reset the recover menu settings.. You should eject the UMD, there is no need for it anymore unless you want to play a game. If you want to disable the UMD, go to your PSP XMB Settings > System Settings > UMD Auto-Start > Off.

And did you do the 2nd part of my instructions above? It shouldn't behave this way.

Now then, I am sure that the ROM you have is not working. Please Google for some good reliable NES Games (preferably it says its the US version and also it has a (!) next to the name. It's illegal for me to share any ROM games here in this forum and also against the law.

Just Google them. I am sure sooner or later you will come across a NES Rom that will work.

The directory should be: ms0:/PSP/GAME150/NesterJ/ROMS/

For the record, I use this NesterJ emu: http://pspbrew.com/?page=fileInfo&cid=4144&d=915 (I find this version works the best!)
