Need help. Bricked? or broken?

I need help. I think my psp is bricked or broken. I have or had firmware 1.50 and it's been like that for a long time. Almost since i got it. anyways. I was using my psp last night and it worked fine. i tried using it today when i got home from work and it didn't want to work. It turns on but the screen just stays blank. and no sound is made. I'm currently charging it. hoping that's what it is but i don't think it is that. even tried putting in a UMD and nothing. also hit home and nothing. the brightness screen does work cause it gets brighter just stays blank though. Help. any help would greatly be appreciated. :(

Sounds like you need a new motherboard, kind of wierd for that to happen overnight...does someone else have access to it? Bricks only happen when someones messing with the flash0 files and upgraders flash to the flash0 so chances are someone used your psp while you were at work and must have updated and shut off while it was still in the process of updating.

I don't think anyone messed with it cause i take it to work just so that doesn't happen. so where can i get a new motherboard? or can i just get a modchip and try unbricking it? already looking at modchips. luckily i have a back up PSP. just for this instance. already downgraded and everything. I thought it was weird also for it just to happen overnight. well the last program i used was notepad for the PSP. and i never had any problems with it.

Mmm...maybe it was just really old? You can get an old motherboard though off ebay sometimes. I dunno know if a modchip will fix it. Did you happen to overclock the cpu recently? I don't think that would cause your problem though... You didn't happen to sit your psp beside a huge magnet did you? Or a nuclear powerplant or something?

1.50 doesnt have recovery @ ace so the cpu speed isnt the problem, not that it would be anyway. But yeah, a mod chip can fix your problem...it basically creates another flash0 so you have two, all you have to do is copy the files from one flash0 to the other and you should be good to go. The only problem that you might have is finding someone to solder the mod chip to your psp. You can get new motherboards from ebay, even if you search on google you should be able to find a few sites that sell them.

Just remembered...have you tried turning on your psp while the charger is plugged in?

Anyways the newest mod chip is called the devolution, it supports all motherboards right now. The undiluted platinum only supports a few iif im not mistaken.
