down button stuck only in certain games and home brew.
i really don't get this one. lumines and a few other things work perfect.
some games (socom, prince of persia, etc..) the down button is stuck, and the same with filer 3.6 (haven't tried anything else).
anyone know anything about this one?

I honestly don't know, but are you SURE that the button appears to be stuck "down" during certain applications? It seems to me that games that have analog compatibility are goofing up. That leads me to believe that you have a broken analog stick, or possibly it just needs to be cleaned.

Yea then I think we've pinpointed that you have a problem with the analog stick. I'd try removing the faceplate and cleaning it with an air can (if you're good at that kind of stuff). Beyond that, if the problem still persists, I suggest getting on ebay and buying a spare psp or try to find JUST the analog stick for your repair. It's a relatively easy repair and there are guides online for how to do it properly.

It's always a good Idea to clean it regularaly at least once a month ( by cleaning it I mean taking off the faceplate like DarkPacMan77 said), using a cue-tip is always a good idea too. If you need any more help with taking it apart, PM me and I will send you a diagram of mine and explain anything you need help with :)

You dont need to remove the faceplate to clean the analog...you can pop off the nub. But yes, if just popping the nub off and cleaning it doesnt work then i would suggest what pacman has suggested and remove the faceplate, unscrew the analog pad then clean it out a bit.

you might need to use a wet pad for the little portions that can get sticky. If your the kind of person that eats whilst playing you finger workout appliance.

took it apart and cleaned it. now it's in 9 very difficult to put back together pieces. it's ok tho... i bought this system for $20 of a friend just so i could mess with it and not break my system. i think, sometime when i have the money, i'll just get a new analog stick off ebay.
thx guys!

no problem, and remember what I said about cleaning it. It's very important if you want it to last!

followed the video and put it back together. still stuck tho (i use socom as my tester, cuz there's screen where ya have to enter your name and the cursor just keeps scrolling down...).
so i just pulled out the analog stick and tried again: same results. :\
