Need a heads up, making a custom firmware

Hey, people, I've been in the PSP world a while now and I'm sure many of you know me by now

It's been some time that I wanted to do something that would benefit the homebrew world and myself

so I've decided to attempt to create a custom firmware, I know it will be a very hard thing to accomplish but I would like your help on some ideas and suggestions:

1.) Should I even make a firmware, or should I make some other contribution, such as a downgrader?

2.) Any sites or tutorials that may help me?

3.) Suggestions or words of wisdom

4.) Anything to get me started

Thanks for your interest

P.S. I really want this topic to be really alive, I need all the help I can get

Quite the ambition. There's no way I would ever be able to do something like that. Not that I have the know how, but I just don't have the time or passion. I don't believe I have ever finished a project I started in the past. But if you really think you can figure it out, go on ahead and be my guest. I just believe that there is a reason only dax and a few handful of other people have made downgraders and custom firmware. All I really have to say is, you better decide now if you think you know how, and decide if you really do have enough time/ will have enough time in the future to actually finish it. Pretty much, if you get it started you better make sure you can finish it, if you really really want to do it.

You will be hard pressed to find a tut since no one is really doing it. Might be better off with just trial and error.

He is a member over at qj.net. You can just send him a PM there...other than that he is pretty secretive...tracking him down is harder than you think. Just ask Sony...hahaha.

Also here is a link to his proof of concept post over there. It might help you figure some stuff out.
