4Gb 360 Slim Can't Play Reach Co-Op Online?

Apparently, Kotaku is saying that if you bought the 4Gb bundle for the new 360, then you can't play the new Halo game online in co-op. Why? I dunno. You'll get an error saying that your system doesn't meet the hard drive requirement. Gay? I think so. Apparently, you can't even bypass this using flash drives and buying the only hard drive out there would cost you an additional $130.
What do you guys think of this?

Wow that's really lame. I wonder why? Do you have a 4gb slim?

No, but they are $199 and I was thinking about getting one...
Not sure how many more games have this 'feature.'

Eh I was thinking about getting one, I could just use my current hard drive. Still though, that's really lame.

I read that since it only has 4GB, it can't hold the necessary cache for the game or something. That is pretty lame, but why would you have a console with only 4GB anyway? It's madness!

I think it's just that the 360 checks to see if you have a certain amount of harddrive space instead of checking to see if a harddrive is inserted or not. I know I would get the 4Gb to save $100. I don't need much space since I won't be getting DLC or anything retarded like that.

Well it isn't a space issue, I figured Halo reach just uses the hard drive and doesn't check for any other storage method when saving cache, which would explain how they can release an update in the near future to fix it.
