If I have a Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and I also have the USB charger for it, can I use it on my PC to play emulators and other things of the sort?

Think it's a good idea for when Im not playing halo lol

To be honest I don't remember, I know the wired ones work fine but I want to say that you can't use a wireless one without the extra dongle that M$ makes.

if it helps, a wireless controller with a charger on it plugged into the 360 is recognized as a controller (like while its charging)

So I'm assuming it would work.

um.. it should Win 7 recognizes it as it a gaming controller, so use it.

if your wanting something for say.... steam games, go torrent xPadder. its great.

you cant do it wirelessly cuz it isnt bluetooth. if it was a ps3 controller you can do it like that.

Plug & Play, boi!
I did this two nights ago with Halo 1 and a 360 controller. I think Vista and up automatically detects it.

Sadly it depends on the age of the Play and Charge actually. "Play and charge" means play while charging not play by charging (if you get what I mean). Mine, a year old, wouldnt allow me to play on my laptop (Win 7). Newer ones supposedly allow you too.

So...

XBox wired = works (auto on vista / 7) needs drivers on rest
XBox wireless = requires MS dongle

PS3 wired = works (driver available in download section... may Plug and play depending on OS computer)
PS3 wireless - http://davieslim.wordpress.com/2008/09/ ... bluetooth/ (install and setup drivers)

It pisses me off...

A wireless controller is more expensive than a wired controller and you can use a wired controller without anything but you need to purchase more stuff with a wireless one. -__-

hehe ya. but you only need one MS wireless dongle for all your controllers. if you look on amazon you can get some weird colors pretty cheap.
