two questions followed by a good idea...

i just got a psp for xmas (i know... its early... i dont actually have it but i know its mine... ) and it has the 1.50 firmware... fromwhat im reading, that means i have a very flexable peice o hardware... just a few questions...

1. I'm looking forward to getting GTA:LCS but that would require me to update my psp software to 2.0, which, from what i hear, is slightly uncrackable.... is there a good workaround so i get the perks of a 2.0 the web browser and schtuff) with the lack in security with 1.5 for emulation capabilities?

2. is there a way someone could either wire or connect an external HD (lets say, for example, an ipod put into disk mode) so that the psp recognizes it as storage? i figure this would be a great idea simply because ive got lots of music, movies, and (in the near future) iso's and emulation i could stick on that.... would it be possable from either the usb or MemStick slot?

sence i dont have a lot of info or exp with cracking psps, im requesting some heavy explanation or links to some... thx in advance

LCS will need a 2.0 firmware update. Casue even though there is a way to work around 2.0 games. LCS requires an update. Sorry.

And yes, there is a way to connect a hard drive to the psp. There are some harddrives available online (they say they work, but iunno) And there is a 4 gig hard drive/extended battery combo thats already out for the psp (or so thats what people claim) that connects in the memory stick slot.

Hope this helps, ask away again if u have more questions.

well, i already pointed out that the game required the update... if i didnt, it was implied cause the update allows certain features to work (like the cinematic movies i think)....

the 4 gb hd/w battery (not even a real drive, but a CF card rather) is all well and good if i had 2hundred to drop into it... which i dont... why waste money on a drive when there could be the possability to use one i already have? jsut looking for a way...

well, i dont think any random hard drive you choose would work on a psp. Cause if you are trying to run anything off a HD, then it would require the memory stick data to be in the HD before the psp can detect it.

if thats the case, how does the keyboard setup work with psp? you just get the cables and converters and it recognizes it.... right? and im not speakering directly about ANY hard drive... i know that theres no direct conversion to IDE, SCSI, or SATA to USB... but there are USB HD's and the ipod can be put into disk mode... if only i had access to my psp i could test this... sigh
