HELP! Brick?

I was using a file on my PSP (I think it's messed up, will delete it if everything works out), and my PSP froze. I pulled the battery out and put it back in. When I turn on the PSP, nothing but a black screen. I tried going into recovery mode, and did, but I have no idea what to do in recovery mode to make everything work again. I am using custo firmware 3.40 oe. Help?

Just use the 1.50 winstaller on this page- http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/460892
Here is a direct link to the file- http://fs02n2.sendspace.com/dl/ae31cc9e ... taller.exe
Just save the .exe to your desktop or where ever.
And boot into recovery mode and use like the 3rd option, the one that says run the file located at the recovery folder. And it will downgrade your psp back to 1.50 and fixing all your mistakes. Then just back to 3.40OE-A, or whatever you want to. Just make sure not to make the same mistake again.

Next time you should probably give more details then "I was using a file", like possibly what file. If we don't know what you were doing then it's sortive hard to help.

O i forgot to tell you, you need to boot into recovery mode and Toggle usb to on. And plug it up to your computer and then you can use that winstaller. Just start the winstaller after you plug up your psp and toggle usb on.

Yea.... I posted it to help that guy who bricked. And that is one of the reasons it was made. But in order to use it you have to have access to recovery mode. So in other words, if you bricked while you had a custom firmware then your set. If you bricked while you had like 1.50 then your screwed.

If your not bricked yes you can use it, if your semi-bricked yes you can use it, if your bricked no you cant.

The whole point of the recovery files is to return your firmware to 1.50 so yes as long as your psp is working fine, or is at minimum capable of entering recovery mode then you can use the files/links posted above.
