Slim PSP with Phat PSP Pandora Battery?

I have an older phat PSP with custom firmware 3.52. I've made a pandoras battery with my battery before.

I now have a new PSP 2001 Slim version as well. How can I set up custom firmware on this slim PSP without hard-modding the battery? I've never used a slim PSP for homebrew so this is my first go-through and I want to make sure that I do things correctly.

Edit: I'm completely baffled. I don't know how to do this at all. I literally need step-by-step instructions or 1-on-1 help. I have a microphone so I could talk on skype or msn or something. What I'm trying to do is use my phat battery to make it a pandoras battery and then setup the memory card to use dc4 or whatever... but I'm just completely lost on how to do this.

The same battery should work on the slim. The procedure works exactly the same between a 1000 and 2000 series PSP.

if you have a homebrew enabled psp you can soft mod the phat battery. and that WILL work on your slim assuming it doesnt have the new board.

-battery
-mem stick preferably 1 gig
-program called U.P.M.S (its awesome trust me.) here is a link to a tut for installing it http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/580254

My phat battery can't hold any power anymore. I charged it to 82%, put it in the slim, and wham, it busted it. The battery went to 0% charge and now it can't charge anymore.

dark is this a bogus post?

I can't believe my eyes! the Pacman himself asking for help? is this a bogus thread? thats like Micheal Jordan asking Kobe how do dunk! that's crazy about your battery, I used Raines mms and my phat battery and all went smooth. I do see that you posted this awhile back so, did you find a fix? if so what?
PSP-1001, CFW 5.02 OME, PSP-2001 CFW 5.00 M33-6, PSP 3001(uh the screen is very nice if you ignore the scan lines), Ps2 Clear Cased modded, running MC Exploit 320gig HD. Xbox halo edition, running soft mod with a 160 gig HD, 360 elite ofw, ps3 ofw. I still have no idea what I'm doing!

well I've made like a million pandora batterys... and I've used the same phat pandora battery to mod slims and phats. But if the reason you're baffled is b/c you broke your battery then you just need to go get another one. If you reallllly need one, I can find a way to send you a phat battery either pandorized or just normal.
